Overwatch 2 devs have revealed which three heroes have taken over the new Stadium mode by dominating the pick rates.
Season 16 introduced Stadium, a new third mode that shakes off the confines of traditional Overwatch matches and embraces every hero’s powerful abilities. Games play out over seven rounds, with players selecting deadly Powers to create the best build.
Although the roster only consists of 17 characters at launch, there are plenty of combinations to make any hero viable. However, some have instantly risen to the top of the meta, as Blizzard have revealed the most popular heroes so far.
OW2 devs reveal Stadium heroes with best pick rates
Stadium pick rates aren’t widely available, but in a Reddit AMA, the game’s data analyst, Ben Trautman, revealed that Juno, Soldier 76, and Reinhardt have been the most selected in their respective roles. However, while some have been comfortably the most popular, others have been pushed close by other characters in the category.
“Soldier 76 is far out ahead of the rest, however the rest of the cast are fairly close together,” Trautman explained. “Juno is the most-picked [Support], the rest are within 15% of her pick rate, except for Lucio who is last by a fair margin (he’s very good though!).”
“Similarly to Soldier, Reinhardt is a decent way ahead of the rest of the tanks, but the rest of the tanks are very closely grouped in pick rate.”

This likely won’t come as much of a surprise, as these three heroes have been a constant sight ever since Stadium arrived, with most teams featuring at least one of them.
Juno, in particular, has emerged as arguably the best character in the entire mode, as she can be transformed into an all-out DPS with the right combination of Powers.

Meanwhile, Reinhardt has proved popular thanks to his virtually unbreakable shield and ability to fly into the air, making him an incredibly effective tank.
The good news is that more characters are coming to Stadium over time, with Freja arriving in the mid-Season 16 update and older heroes arriving in future seasons. There will also be plenty of balancing updates in the weeks ahead, so we could see new faces dominating the mode very soon.
