Overwatch 2 x Street Fighter 6 crossover accidentally revealed & it’s coming very soon

A crossover between Street Fighter 6 and Overwatch 2 has appeared early on the PlayStation website, and the collab is coming very soon.
Overwatch 2 has stepped up its crossover game in recent months, with many big names and franchises appearing in the hero shooter. Season 15 brought skins inspired by K-pop group LE SSERAFIM, and Season 16 has brought an entire Gundam Wing event.
Now, Blizzard are gearing up for one of the biggest collabs yet, as a Street Fighter 6 event has accidentally been revealed ahead of time.
Street Fighter 6 collab coming to Overwatch 2
A now-deleted listing on the PlayStation Store confirmed that Overwatch and Street Fighter 6 will be uniting, and it’s set to happen as soon as the mid-Season 16 update.
“Mid-season magic is alive,” said the image. “Keep battling in Stadium with a Street Fighter 6 collaboration and Dokiwatch Mercy skin.”
Although there is currently no official release date for the mid-season update, it’s expected towards the end of May. Season 16 launched on April 22, and major patches tend to drop on Tuesdays, so somewhere around May 20 seems most likely.
Unfortunately, the post didn’t give away what we can expect when the crossover goes live, but it’s safe to assume that we’ll get some Legendary skins. In the past, we’ve seen OW heroes transform into characters from other franchises, and this will likely be no different.
In fact, OW2 players have already outlined their wishlist, with some hoping for a Kiriko outfit inspired by Chun-Li. But given how large Street Fighter 6’s roster is, there are plenty of fighters who could be included, from fan-favorites like Ryu and Cammy, to newer characters like Mei.
If past events are anything to go by, any skins will be released on the in-game store, but there could also be some free rewards up for grabs by completing challenges, such as Charms or Emotes.
However, it’s worth noting that this is all speculation based on previous collabs. We’ll have to wait for an official announcement to know for sure.
Luckily, the mid-season update isn’t too far away, so both Overwatch and Street Fighter fans will have answers very soon.
