Overwatch 2 players have one particular request that they hope devs will implement in the game and it’s related to the Battle Pass.

Overwatch 2 was in a rough spot in early 2025, as many players flocked to its competitor Marvel Rivals for a breath of fresh air. But now that the Spotlight event has wrapped up and Season 15 has finally gone live, things are already looking up for Blizzard’s competitive shooter once again.

Not only did devs add hero perks, a feature that allows you to tweak existing abilities, but they’ve also brought back loot boxes and offered a plethora of cosmetics players can get for free.

While the overall reception has been mostly positive, players can’t help but still be pleading for one particular feature from Marvel Rivals to be added.

Overwatch 2 players want anti-FOMO Battle Passes from Marvel Rivals

As with any other season, Season 15 has introduced an all-new Battle Pass featuring new cosmetics, Mythic Prisms, and even the recently returned loot boxes. Though these are all welcome rewards, players in a Reddit thread have expressed that they would like the game’s Battle Pass to be “permanently available.”

One user who started the discussion mentioned, “Who wants to be permanently locked out of some of the game’s best skins because they weren’t playing that season? Especially with the new and returning players coming in as a result of this update.”

A lot of players have shared the same sentiment of wanting Overwatch 2 Battle Passes not to be a limited-time thing in the comments, with many of them pointing out that the overall FOMO experience is ruining the fun.

“I’d like to be able to pay for the pass and complete it at my own pace Yes. It would stress me out infinitely less. They can keep the prestige stuff for that season if they want,” suggested one user.

A different player brought up the Marvel Rivals Battle Pass system, which lets you unlock the cosmetics at your own pace if you bought the pass before, stressing that this should be “the norm.”

Meanwhile, others have also claimed that they’d rather refrain from buying a Battle Pass if they’re not sure they can finish it, hoping devs would get rid of Battle Pass FOMO altogether so they won’t feel pressured.

Regarding this, one user suggested that devs could also implement a system where the Battle Pass would be made available again after a few seasons to give those who missed out a chance.

A Battle Pass that’s not limited-time isn’t exactly a new feature in games. Some titles have already implemented this system, including Marvel Rivals — though you’re required to purchase the Luxury tier first for this.
