A viral Reddit thread highlighted a substantial bug involving one of Overwatch 2’s most popular weapon skins.
Overwatch 2 has stepped up its cosmetics game recently with new, high-quality Mythic skins for players to show off. One of the more exciting concepts is Mythic weapon skins, which can transform a weapon’s look to something much more stylish and visually striking and are generally more unique than the competitive variants, such as the new Galactic skins.
However, there was one oversight that one player discovered. Many players were amused at a bug involving Ashe’s Lead Rose weapon skin; once equipped, you can’t actually remove it, leaving players stuck with it forever.
Ashe’s weapon skin has a problem
In the viral Reddit thread, one user discovered that Ashe’s weapon skins were missing an option for a “default” appearance that other characters have. This means that once you equip the Lead Rose skin, you’re unable to return to the default gun.
“There isn’t even an option for ‘default’ that other weapon skins have,” the user said. “I can’t get this thing off…this is a crazy oversight from Blizzard.”
While this is a relatively minor issue, as most see the Lead Rose skin as a vast improvement over her default look anyway, some players feel as if the Mythic gun can clash with Ashe’s other cosmetics, so having the option to toggle between the two is important.

“It does clash with some skins,” admitted one user.
“Especially if you have the gold or jade variants,” added another. “I really wish the roses would stay organic and not get metallic with those.”
Fortunately, it appears that Blizzard is already aware of the issue, as the bug is listed in the ‘Overwatch 2 Known Issues” thread on the game’s official forums. Once the team fixes this problem, players fortunately won’t be locked up in the “Lead Rose” jail any longer.
