Marvel Rivals’ new update has introduced a variety of aspects to the game, from new skins, an exciting new event, and a few changes to the heroes many know and love. However, it’s also added a new report feature, which is confusing many.
Now, even as a Gen Z, this pains me to write, but Marvel Rivals has added a new reason to report another player in their latest update, by calling them out for bussing. Thankfully, if you’ve had the displeasure to google this meaning (which you have unless you wouldn’t have found this) then you’ll be pleased to know that, in Marvel Rivals at least, bussing does not mean what you think it means.
So, to ensure you’re reporting players for the right reasons, here’s what bussing actually means in Marvel Rivals.
What does Bussing mean in Marvel Rivals?
Essentially, Bussing refers to players intentionally teaming up with cheaters to boost their ranking in Marvel Rivals.

After one player emailed Netease asking for clarification on the term, the developers explained that “Bussing typically refers to players intentionally teaming up with cheaters to boost their own game ranking.”
So, for example, if you’re playing against a team filled with cheaters and one player doesn’t seem to be following suit, yet is always teaming up with the same players, then they’re likely ‘bussing’ (no not in that way).
Many other players explained how they thought it meant to carry a team, which is a common definition for the word in Korea, but this has now been clarified by the Marvel Rivals developers.
Of course, finding a player who’s intentionally teaming up with cheaters is likely to be a little challenging while you’re playing, but if you spot someone, then now you know exactly how to report them, and the rather unique word you’ll have to look for.
