NeteaseThe Marvel Rivals March 13 update has arrived, adding in some key buffs and nerfs to beloved characters, bug fixes, and a new skin that’s proving to be Twitch streamers’ biggest nightmare.
Since it was released, Marvel Rivals has been a hit among streamers, with the likes of shroud, Ninja, and now TimTheTatman diving in to showcase the best battles, abilities, and of course the coolest skins in the game.
However, one brand new skin has instantly become unobtainable for anyone streaming on Twitch, as it completely ruins their stream.
New Loki skin ruins Twitch streams
During one of shroud’s streams on Twitch, he quickly discovered that the new President Loki skin automatically disconnects the OBS, the software used to stream and record on Twitch.
“I saw this skin before, it’s because my OBS is disconnecting and people think I’m faking it” explained shroud before clicking on the MVP animation for Loki. Shortly after, the screen went black, with shroud reappearing to exclaim “wait, what is going on? Why is it happening?”
Later in his stream, shroud reveals that it’s not just his OBS that is affected, whenever the skin with the ‘vote now’ appears, it completely shuts down streamers’ streams. As highlighted by a viewer: “The only reason he’s still live and we just see a black screen is that he has stream setup so it streams from one obs to second obs, that streams it to twitch.”
As seen in the VoD, shroud takes a look at the Presidential Attire bundle for Loki, activating the MVP animation. He then shows he’s not touching anything and the stream quickly goes black, with the OBS switching off.
During the stream, many fans thought it was incredibly ironic, commenting that Loki was “truly the god of mischief” after all, it certainly feels fitting for the character in question.
Of course, this is likely a bug within the skin that’s directly affecting the OBS, so it’s unlikely to affect anyone not streaming, but it appears anyone watching Twitch streamers play Marvel Rivals will likely miss out on them activating the President Loki skin for a while.
