Marvel Rival players who specialize in Support roles are clapping back at Duelists for wasting time to complain about ult uses in chat instead of finishing a match – especially those playing on console.
Timing Support moves in Marvel Rivals isn’t easy. Whether you are trying to heal a teammate or use your ult for the best effect, picking the optimal moment can be a challenge.
Some ults are easier to predict, with someone like Storm having a long window between when you hear their ult indicator, while others like Doctor Strange give you almost no time to react with a Support ult of your own.
Several Support players have taken to social media to break down this challenge following instances of harassment from Duelist players unhappy with when ult moves were used.
Support players know timing isn’t perfect
In a post shared to the r/MarvelRivals Reddit, one Support player aired their grievances about their (mainly Duelist) teammates, calling them out for throwing them under the bus when it came to ult usage.
They specifically cite instances where it has gone wrong for them, and that they are “well aware” that the way they used their ult may not have been optimal.
In the current state of Marvel Rivals, support ults can be the key to surviving, say, a Groot ult grouping your entire team into a burst combo if you don’t have that cooldown. However, that ult won’t be of much use if you get dived and die before it goes off.
The primary grievance was directed at console players, who have to take time to bring up and type in the chat bar that is less than user-friendly to send these complaints. This effort can take a good chunk of time, impacting matches.
Players in the comments agreed with the original poster, with one commenting, “Stopping to type even a couple of letters on console is insane. It takes SO LONG.” Another added, “Omg the amount of times I’m trying to survive a multi dive and i oopsied the two control sticks together. Yes I am aware! Save my a** and those panic clicks won’t happen!!”
Others recounted their embarrassing ult accidents, with one responding, “Honestly sometimes I just accidentally hit Q because it’s right next to W and my fingers get misaligned with the keys.”
A workaround that several players suggested was completely muting the chats, especially for those who are playing causally. With how competitive Marvel Rivals players can get, sometimes silence is the greatest win a match can provide.
