Marvel Rivals players already scared of “insanely OP” Human Torch ability

Human Torch in Marvel Rivals

Marvel Rivals’ Human Torch has one particular ability that many players are already worried about and scared of.

Marvel Rivals’ Human Torch will be added to the game with The Thing in the Midseason update, dropping February 21, 2025. Ahead of their arrival, NetEase has already teased a closer look at Human Torch, giving us an idea of what he’s capable of.

From this alone, we know he’s going to be a flier, like Iron Man, but with the ability to hurl fire at enemies. He will also have a Team Up with Storm, allowing her to create a fire Tornado to incinerate unfortunate players caught in the path.

Though that sounds really devastating already, one particular ability from Human Torch already has players worried and scared just by looking at how it works.

Human Torch’s Flame Walls is going to be a nightmare on objectives

The Flame Walls ability was briefly shown in the teaser video, but thanks to streamer Necros, we got a closer look at it. As seen in the clip, he tested this ability in Practice Range, where he formed a square firewall after launching what appeared to be fireballs in different spots.

Up to this point, it already looked like a solid ability to stop enemies from getting into the point – but as it turns out, anyone or anything caught inside the flame wall will receive a pretty hefty amount of damage over time, which could kill them the longer they stay in it.

It’s worth noting, however, that maps in the game are varied with different buildings, terrains, and other things in the way, so pulling this off in a real game might be tricky. Still, the range it has is pretty massive, and now, a lot of players are already worried, with some of them convinced the hero will be permabanned.

Seeing this, one user wrote: “THIS HERO BOUTTA COOK TF OUT OF US THE STRATEGIST MANNN.”

“Bro, if his E can cover a huge area on point hold or if ur pushing the point, that’s actually busted,” commented a different user. Meanwhile, one user said: “This ability looks like it was designed to ruin friendships.”

“That is actually insanely OP,” one chimed in.

Some players have suggested that heroes like Jeff the Land Shark, Namor, and Luna Snow – all of which have water and ice-related abilities, should be able to put out the fires. Of course, that’s just wishful thinking for now though.
