The new hero coming in Marvel Rivals Season 2 can actually be seen in-game, as he’s trapped and waiting to be freed on the new Central Park map.
The Season 1.5 update brings two brand-new characters to Marvel Rivals in The Thing and Human Torch. However, while both are powerful and will keep players occupied for a while, fans are always looking ahead to the next new heroes.
After the devs promised that additional characters would come at a rapid pace, many leaks and rumors emerged about who their next new face would be. One of the most popular was Blade, as in-game lore already mentioned the iconic vampire hunter.
Now, it’s all but confirmed that Blade will arrive in Season 2, as he was teased at the end of the new map trailer and you can even see him during a match.
Blade is trapped in Central Park
Blade was first shown in a trailer for the new Central Park map that arrives with Season 1.5. He was shown briefly at the end of the video, where he appeared to be locked away inside Dracula’s Castle, backing up in-game text that mentioned that Dracula had captured him before his invasion.
This is much more than just a teaser, though, as once streamers got early access to Season 1.5, he was actually discovered on the map itself. If you head inside Dracula’s Castle, you’ll find Eric Brooks kneeling on a podium, imprisoned by some sort of red rune.
While it hasn’t been officially confirmed, this is the best clue yet that Blade will be the next new hero added to the roster. The story of Season 1 revolves around the Fantastic Four trying to stop Dracula’s attack, so once the villain is defeated he’ll likely be free and ready to join the lineup.
Little is known about his abilities, but we expect him to be a Duelist character based on his mastery of martial arts and heightened senses, which would make him a great damage dealer.
Season 2 is expected to arrive sometime in April 2025, so it shouldn’t be too long before we get confirmation and a better breakdown of his kit.
