Marvel Rivals March 6 update finally adds highly requested feature for every hero

Marvel Rivals‘ March 6 update delivers a highly anticipated feature that’s sure to make players’ lives easier, but it’s terribly easy to miss if you’re not a detailed person.

This hero shooter is still making waves, in large part thanks to the devs listening to player feedback. Despite the initial hype and attention, the game hasn’t shown any signs of slowing down.

When Marvel Rivals launched, it impressed with its chunky roster, satisfying weapon feel, and a high skill ceiling that made it easy to love. That said, just when the infatuation period was wearing off, NetEase proved to listen to its player base – the ranked rewards system got a complete rework after hearing player concerns.

With the March 6 update, Marvel Rivals adds a neat little quality-of-life improvement: proficiency icons.

If you’ve been grinding away to master characters, you can now see at a glance how far you’ve come. It’s a small thing, but it matters.

The more you play a character, you begin to level it up from Agent to Lord. This also grants you rewards like new KO designs, and of course, the Lord hero icon.

Thanks to this new QoL feature, you no longer have to dig through menus to find out which characters you’ve actually mastered. It’s also a subtle push to try out different heroes.

Fans are loving it. “Wait I saw someone on here a while ago post this as an idea. The devs are definitely lurking here and I’m all for it!” one player joked.

Another added, “Ask and you shall receive. Turns out all you need is a post with a couple thousand upvotes and your idea will be implemented.”

Personally, I’m thrilled with the change, and others seem to agree. But there are still lots of QoL features to implement. Some ask for a shared spray wheel across all heroes, others practically beg for proficiency icons to be sorted from highest to lowest. I, for one, just want more Luna Snow skins please and thank you.

Looking ahead, Marvel Rivals isn’t slowing down. With the Clone Rumble mode on the horizon and Season 2 ready to drop, things are only getting better.
