Brawl Stars character tier list – best Brawlers in July 2025

An image of Brawl Stars keyart.

Whether you’re diving into Brawl Stars for the first time or are a longer-term player, it’s essential to keep up with which characters are the best Brawlers in the current meta.

As a mobile gaming sensation with an ever-expanding amount of Brawlers to choose from and unlock, not all of them are created equal — with some wielding better abilities than their counterparts and being much stronger overall.

Below, you’ll find out exactly where each character sits in our regularly updated Brawler tier list. The meta will continue to change as new updates arrive and fluctuates pretty often, but our rankings are up to date as of July 2025.

Brawl Stars character tier list

TierBrawlers

One of the biggest changes has gone to Lumi, who not only received a major health nerf but also decreased range, making her drop all the way to B-tier despite being considered one of the best meta Brawlers for a while now.

Like Lumi, Kenji has also been knocked off the S-tier, while Jessie dropped even further to the D-tier from the C-tier.

This time around, Jae-Yong and Kaze remain top-tier picks, especially since the latter just got a health buff.

Meanwhile, Bull and Doug, who were previously placed in the D-tier, have all climbed to A-tier at the same time, thanks to their kit getting reworked, allowing them to make even more impact during fights.

In the tier list below, we’ve also included Alli, an upcoming character set to be released soon, based on early access experience.

Our tiers explained

  • S: The best Brawlers in the game — they all excel in most situations and should be prioritized above.
  • A: Very good Brawlers. Not as strong as the S-tier, but all solid choices that you can rarely go wrong with.
  • B: These Brawlers don’t come close to S and A-Tier characters, but still have some good merits.
  • C: Only use these Brawlers if they’ve got an ability or playstyle that sticks out to you.
  • D: We’d advise avoiding these Brawlers entirely, choosing alternative options from higher in the tier list.

Before anything else, do keep in mind that while several characters are ranked higher than others, that doesn’t always mean they’re much better in every way than those below them.

At the end of the day, your overall skills and team comp also matter if you’d like to win. It’s just that these higher-ranked characters generally can offer more value throughout the match. Though again, everything boils down to your individual performance.

S-Tier Brawlers in Brawl Stars

Alli (Assassin)

A screenshot featuring Alli in Brawl Stars.

As a new addition to the roster, Alli is already off with a strong start. The Mythic Brawler Assassin has excellent mobility, as she can move over water and become enraged when enemies that have less than 50% health are nearby.

When enraged, Alli’s movement gets even quicker due to the speed boost and attack range, which makes it even easier to chase off enemies and secure kills. Though her Gadgets help complement her kit, it’s her Super that makes her extremely devastating to play against.

This is because her Super allows her to essentially become invisible, and the more health the enemy has, the stronger her attacks get. Combined with her ability to see enemies’ footprints, Alli deserves a spot in the S-tier.

Gus (Support)

A screenshot of Gus in Brawl Stars.

Gus is a fantastic Support Brawler with really unique healing abilities. He uses a signature balloon to attack, and by charging it, you’ll summon a Spirit that either heals him or his teammates, depending on who picks it up.

What’s more, his first Star Power can double the amount of health that his Spirits will heal. You can also never go wrong with using his Super, whether you want to use the shield for yourself or help your teammates, to increase survivability. Overall, if you want to play a Healer in Brawl Stars, Gus is a brilliant choice.

Hank (Tank)

A screenshot featuring Hank in Brawl Stars.

Hank was in a tough spot before, but right now, he’s considered among one of the best picks. Hank’s Balloon Blast attack can be used to catch enemies off guard when you pretend to look the other way before blasting it right in their faces.

What makes him really shine, however, is his Homing Fish-iles that lets him unleash torpedoes that follow enemies, even if they’re behind walls. During this time, Hank also receives a significant boost in his speed, damage, and shield.

Jae-yong (Support)

Jae-yong in Brawl Stars

Jae-Young is equipped with tons of utility in his kit, making him an excellent pick in so many different comps. Whether that’s crowd control to slow nearby enemies, a trail that boosts his teammates’ speed, or decent healing, he’s got everything you want to survive and lead the fights.

He offers a lot of value for someone looking to provide buffs to the team. However, his different modes may take a while to get the hang of, especially for players new to the game. Either way, he’s essentially a great choice as a support.

Kaze (Assassin)

A screenshot featuring Kaze in Brawl Stars.

There are a lot of reasons why Kaze has managed to rank so high. She’s not just your average run-of-the-mill assassin brawler, but she’s the first-ever Ultra Legendary character to be introduced. Playing Kaze is like playing two characters at once, thanks to her Geisha and Ninja forms.

Each form offers different kits, which are very useful during battles. Her Geisha form allows her to be very fast in terms of movement, reload, as well as turn the tide of the battle by turning her and her allies in an area invisible.

Meanwhile, her Ninja form is perfect for burst damage at close range. Combine this with her Super, which lets her explode enemies caught in her path, she’s definitely a deadly damage dealer that’s a must-have if you want to keep up with the meta.

A-tier characters

8-Bit (Damage Dealer)

An image of 8-Bit in Brawl Stars.

8-Bit may have slow movement speed, but his Super is a fantastic asset. He can summon a turret that increases that damage to himself and allies who step inside its radius.

If you can get it deployed in the right spot, with a powerful Sniper like Piper alongside you, you’ll be causing a lot of chaos for your opponents.

Amber (Controller)

A screenshot of Amber in Brawl Stars.

Amber is extremely versatile and her fire-based abilities make her shine in most in-game situations, whether she’s taking on enemies headfirst or hanging back to flush them out into the open.

Her skills are also great at damaging enemies over time, such as her Super which creates a fiery puddle, and her Dancing Flames gadget which spawns three fireballs around her, inflicting pain on anyone who gets in your way.

Angelo (Marksman)

In-game screenshot featuring Angelo in the Brawl Stars shop.

Angelo is an epic-rated Marksman, capable of dealing massive bursts of damage to enemies from very far away.

Additionally, his Welcome to the Swamp ability adds poison to his attacks, dealing heavy damage over time to enemy brawlers.

Ash (Tank)

A screenshot of Ash in Brawl Stars.

Ash is placed where he is mainly because of his Hypercharge. The Rat King ability lets his Super spawn even more robotic rats around the map who chase enemies and explode on contact.

This additional skill, alongside his high health pool, and the speed and damage boosts he can receive thanks to his Rage bar place him comfortably in the A-tier right now.

Bea (Marksman)

An image of Bea in Brawl Stars

Bea wields, perhaps unsurprisingly, bees to help her on the battlefield and she can even slow her enemies down with a swarm of them.

Bea can deal a lot of big damage and she really excels against Brawlers with high HP in the current meta which means she’s jumped up in the rankings recently.

Belle (Marksman)

A screenshot of Belle from Brawl Stars.

Belle is another massively versatile character in Brawl Stars. She’s difficult to counter and can easily come up against any other Brawlers.

Her long-ranged attacks bounce between nearby enemies to cause damage, and they can also recharge quite quickly. Her Super fires a low-damaging Marker at a target that increases the amount of damage they’ll sustain until they’re defeated.

Bull (Tank)

A screenshot featuring Bull in Brawl Stars.

Bull can be really oppressive when you play him right, given that his shotgun shells deal a ton of damage up-close. Although he previously struggled in the meta, his recent rework has lifted him all the way to A-tier from D-tier.

One of the changes affected his Supercharge, Bull’s Super, which allows him to charge at enemies and damage obstacles. The tank has now been given a variable distance and will deal damage to anyone in the way. Not only that, but they’ll also get slowed at the end of his charge.

Meanwhile, his Stomper Charge also adds more to his CC by letting his next Super stun enemies upon impact.

Charlie (Controller)

A screenshot featuring Charlie in Brawl Stars.

For a while now, Charlie has been sitting at the bottom of the tier list due to her low survivability and being a niche character. However, she has gotten her attack range significantly increased from 8.33 to 9 titles, which essentially lets you play more aggressively within mid-range.

Gameplay-wise, this change also lets you engage enemies more effectively and keep pressuring them with her yo-yo.

Additionally, her Super’s charge rate also got buffed, making it even faster to build up her cocoon, which is extremely useful as this can trap enemies for a few seconds. While they’re trapped, they also can’t heal, attack, or even move.

Chester (Damage Dealer)

A image of Chester in Brawl Stars.

Chester’s biggest weapon is his Super, which can manifest as one out of five different attacks. Depending on what you get he can deal big damage, destroy obstacles, knock enemies back across the map, or heal himself. He’s also got a chance to stun and slow down opponents.

The caveat with Chester is you don’t always know what Super you’re going to get, which can make planning your next move tricky. However, that can be mitigated by utilizing his Sneak Peek Star Power, as it lets you see what Super he’ll have before it’s fully charged.

Darryl (Tank)

A screenshot of Darryl in Brawl Stars.

Darryl has a massive health pool, and his Super automatically charges over time throughout a match. He attacks with shotgun shells that do big damage, but only at close range, so you’ll need to get into the thick of the attack to get the most out of him.

The biggest benefit to this Brawler is that you can use his Barrell Roll Super Twice as long as it’s fully charged. Executing this correctly is the key to causing the most impact on the battlefield.

Doug (Support)

A screenshot featuring Doug in Brawl Stars.

Doug may not have been considered a good Support pick before, but with the addition of his new trait that allows him to charge his Super by healing, he deserves to be lifted into the A-tier in the current meta.

As for his Super, Doug’s hot dog now has extreme honing towards teammates, making him all the more useful. After all, teammates who get hit with the hot dog buff can be resurrected with full health after a short delay, which can be extremely clutch in many situations.

In addition to all of these, his Fast Food Star Power now lets you heal yourself to maximum health if you successfully revive a teammate.

Finx (Controller)

A screenshot of Finx in Brawl Stars.

Finx is a Mythic Brawler who’s Super provides a lot of utility. With it, he creates an AoE that boosts his and his teammates’ projectile speeds, in turn decreasing the opposition’s. He can utilize this nicely with the No Escape gadget to stun opponents with projectiles.

While he’s not the strongest Controller in the game, Finx is a solid pick that can truly pop off when you pair him with the right team comp.

Frank (Tank)

A image of Frank in Brawl Stars.

Frank is a tanky Brawler with the highest health pool in the game. He can also deal some formidable damage with his shockwave Super. What really makes him really unique, though, is his ability to charge his Super by taking damage from enemies.

The main drawback keeping Frank out of the highest tier despite his great health is that fact his mobility takes a hit whenever he’s attacking in a match.

Kenji (Assassin)

A screenshot of Kenji in Brawl Stars.

Kenji is a fantastic pick-up-and-play Brawler, whether you’re a Brawl Stars veteran or a complete newcomer. His Hosomaki Heal Gadget restores most of his health on activation. Couple this with his second Star Power which gives him a special shield that protects him and reduces incoming damage for the next enemy attack, and Kenji has excellent survivability.

Additionally, his mobility as well as damage output allows him to shred through enemies, making him a nightmare to fight with in a 1v1 situation. Overall, Kenji’s easy-to-play nature paired with his survival skills make this character a strong character.

Although he was deemed ‘broken’ upon launch, Kenji has dropped a fair bit in the list due to nerfs. He’s still a good pick, but you’ll need to run the right build to make him to make the most out of him.

Larry & Lawrie (Artillery)

A screenshot of Larry & Lawrie in Brawl Stars

Larry & Lawrie are a bit of a glass cannon, with low health, but they can also deal a lot of damage. Their attack sees them throwing a handful of tickets on the ground that explode in a small radius, and then into a bigger area. Any enemies caught inside either blast radius will take damage.

Larry’s twin brother Lawrie will be spawned when their Super is activated. There’s a lot of versatility with this Brawler (Brawlers?), and the overall damage output is fantastic

Max (Support)

A image of Max in Brawl Stars.

Max is a Support unit that focuses on buffing her allies as opposed to healing like Gus. Her Super boosts her and her allies’ movement speeds, whereas her first Star Power will automatically charge her Super as she’s moving.

If you want a Brawler that can help the team excel and take down enemies swiftly, Max is a solid option in Brawl Stars.

Mortis (Assassin)

A screenshot of Mortis from Brawl Stars.

Mortis’ biggest asset is his mobility. He’s got brilliant movement speed, but his damage output and reload speed are hindered.

Mortis wields a Shovel to attack enemies and dash forward across the map, and when he isn’t attacking, a Charge Bar can be seen above his head that extends the range of his next attack. His Super will spawn a group of bats that can damage nearby enemies and heal Mortis. While he’s not the best of the best, Mortis is still a great Brawler in the right hands.

Ollie (Tank)

A screenshot of Ollie in Brawl Stars.

Ollie is one of the best Tanks in the current meta. He’s got a high amount of health and a distinct Trait that charges his Super whenever he’s attacked by enemies. This means he can easily take a lot of damage and unleash his Super back onto his opponents.

Recent buffs to his base Attack have made Ollie even tougher, so he’s sitting comfortably in our A-tier.

Piper (Marksman)

A image of Piper in Brawl Stars.

Piper may have a really low health pool but she makes up for this with her long-ranged attack power. She can easily destroy faraway enemies from her umbrella attack, and the further the bullet travels, the more damage it will do.

You can also do even more damage if you’re firing from bushes thanks to her Ambush Star Power. Her second Star Power, Snappy Sniping, ensures you’ll always have plenty of ammo as it replenishes whenever you hit an enemy. Overall, Piper’s a great choice for anyone who wants to play the sniper role.

Surge (Damage Dealer)

An screenshot of Surge in Brawl Stars.

Surge’s Hypercharge has made him extremely effective in Brawl Stars. He can be upgraded to a Fourth Stage which increases the power of his Attack shots and gives them more range.

While he used to be quite a squishy fighter, he’s certainly not now thanks to a pretty sizeable health pool. Overall, this makes him an extremely solid Brawler who’s ideal for almost any situation in the game.

B-tier Brawlers

Barley (Artillery)

An image of Barley in Brawl Stars.

Barley can throw projectiles across the map that cover the ground in damaging puddles for anyone who’s unlucky enough to step in them. The amount of area Barley can cover with his normal attack and Super combined is pretty staggering.

He can also slow enemies down, use his powers to heal himself and allies, and even destroy bushes around the map thanks to his Hypercharge. All of this makes Barley a great deadly choice.

Berry (Support)

In-game screenshot featuring Berry in the Brawl Stars shop.

While not the greatest Support choice right now, he’s still a decent pick as an Epic-rated Brawler that’s swift in battle.

Berry is not only capable of dealing massive damage to enemy Brawlers but can also heal allies by using his Meltdown ability.

Brock (Marksman)

An image of Brock in Brawl Stars

Up against other Marksman like Piper, and Belle, Brock just isn’t in the same league. He’s also a prime target for Brawler Assassins who can dispel him really efficiently.

His rockets do have a good attack range, but more experienced players will typically be able to avoid them with ease, so we’re not placing him any higher than B-tier for now.

Buster (Tank)

A screenshot of Buster in Brawl Stars.

Buster has solid movement speed and a high damage output when attacking from close range. His Super passively charges whenever his allies are nearby, and he attacks by projecting a wave of light, with his Super creating a barrier that blocks incoming projectiles and converts them into a counterattack

His second Star Power grants him a shield that makes him immune to slows, stuns, or knockbacks whenever his Super is activated. This can make him extremely difficult to take down, giving him great survivability.

Buzz (Assassin)

An image of Buzz in Brawl Stars

Buzz is tricky to really make an impact with, especially if you’re up against Damage Dealers like Chester and Surge in a match.

However, his Hypercharge is still useful and effective if you can pull it off successfully. It recharges his Super instantly if you hit a wall on the map. Once you’ve got your Super ready, it can be unleashed to stun enemies.

Byron (Support)

A screenshot of Byron in Brawl Stars.

Byron is good choice for a Support Brawler, featuring plenty of versatility. He can dish out big damage to foes and consistently heal his allies during a match.

His long-ranged attack is also ideal to utilize while keeping your distance from the enemy to compensate for his lower health pool. To top it all off, he can pair well with almost any other Brawler.

Carl (Damage Dealer)

An image of Carl in Brawl Stars

Carl’s highlight is his Flying Hook gadget that’s a great tool in the right hands — but you’ll need to be a pretty skilled player if you want to make the most out of him.

With so many other Damage Dealers to choose from, though, Carl’s at the middle range of the meta at the moment.

Colette (Damage Dealer)

A screenshot of Colette in Brawl Stars.

Colette fires a projectile that deals more damage the higher her enemies’ health is, so the best play is to find foes quickly if you want to make the most out of her abilities.

Colette’s abilities are solid for countering Tank Brawlers, but she’s currently sitting in the B-tier for now.

Cordelius (Assassin)

A screenshot of Cordelius in Brawl Stars.

Cordelius’ strongest weapon is his Super, which sends enemies into the Shadow Realm. Within the Realm, they can’t use their Super, Gadgets, or Hypercharge. Cordelius himself can’t use Gadgets in the Realm, but he can use his Hypercharge that slows enemies down.

Ultimately, this Super makes Cordelius effective at countering a variety of Brawlers, but you’ll need to wait a bit to unleash it first.

Crow (Assassin)

A screenshot of Crow from Brawl Stars.

Crow has the distinct ability to poison enemies which will deal extra damage to them over time. He’s got really fast movement speed and strong Super mobility.

His biggest setbacks are his lower health pool and the fact his normal attack doesn’t do much damage as the poison compensates for this. If poison sounds like a weapon you want to wield, then Crow and his poisonous daggers could be the Brawler for you.

Draco (Tank)

In-game screenshot featuring Draco in the Brawl Stars shop.

Draco is a Tank-class Brawler featuring a Legendary rarity. Apart from being capable of withstanding waves of damage, he can also cause trouble for enemies with his Lance Stab and Dragon Solo abilities.

He’s a very good option against characters like Bo, Squeak, Gale, and Hank, as his Lance Stab ability deals more damage to enemies that are further away from him.

Gale (Controller)

A screenshot of Gale in Brawl Stars.

Gale has a consistent damage output thanks to his waves of snowballs that he can pelt foes with. His Super creates a powerful wind and snow that pushes enemies back, and his Twister gadget causes a tornado that stops enemies from moving forward.

Overall, he’s not the most powerful Brawler, but he has crowd control abilities that are strong enough to make him a good choice despite his B-tier placement.

Gene (Controller)

An image of Gene in Brawl Stars.

Gene is pretty effective when it comes to honing in on opponents. His Super can pull foes into his location, his Lamp Blowout gadget pushes them back, and the Vengeful Spirit gadget first projectiles that hone in on enemies, and scale in damage the further they travel.

If you like the idea of flushing your opponent’s out, Gene is a solid Brawler to go for. He’s also not particularly easy to counter.

Janet (Marksman)

Janet in Brawl Stars.

Janet’s kit sounds amazing on paper. She can unleash a piercing shockwave that gets even more range the longer you aim it and even fly on top of obstacles to rain bombs on enemies when using her Super.

Pair that with the ability to see enemies hiding in bushes while her Super is active, she’s an excellent choice to make callouts if you’re playing with friends.

That said, she can be pretty tricky to play due to her underwhelming damage output and the fact that she may not always be suitable in all maps.

Juju (Artillery)

A screenshot of Juju in Brawl Stars.

Juju was added to the game in October 2024 and has been an extremely impactful fighter since. Her unique trait lets her move across water, and she can create a variety of buffs with her basic attack and Elementilist gadget.

The buffs she can provide to the environment around her include increasing her range, slowing enemies down in water, and becoming invisible to opponents in bushes.

Kit (Support)

Kit’s Super allows him to jump across the map a fair distance, and if he lands on an enemy, he’ll damage and stun them. If it’s an ally, however, he’ll heal them for a short period instead.

The versatility of his Super, and the fact that it charges itself over time is what makes him a solid Support Brawler even though he’s not the strongest one in the game.

Lily (Assassin)

In-game screenshot featuring Lily in the Brawl Stars shop.

As an assassin with a Mythic rarity rating, Lily is an extremely formidable force in Brawl Stars. Having a conditional teleport ability with her Flourish ability, she can catch enemy brawlers off guard and then take them out of the battle with her Thorn in the Side nuke ability.

Considering the massive amount of damage this Brawler is capable of dishing out, other characters who can withstand the enemy’s damage or provide heals to her are great teammates.

Lola (Damage Dealer)

An image of Lola in Brawl Stars

While Lola can be quite versatile, her problem is that she doesn’t exactly excel at anything she does

Nothing in her kit really stands out above the rest, and that ultimately makes her a middling Damage Dealer in the overall meta but she can still hold her own alright in the B-tier.

Lumi (Damage Dealer)

An image of Lumi in Brawl Stars

Mythic Brawler Lumi has a pretty average health pool overall, but makes up for it with a decent amount of power and long range attacks.

Her Super, Blast Beat, sees three explosions being sent out, the third of which deals the most damage overall. It also leaves a DoT on the ground, dealing additional damage.

Lumi was a strong pick that easily dominated the meta, but with the recent nerfs impacting her health and range, she’s now a lot trickier to play and more squishy, requiring you to be more careful when it comes to engaging with her.

Mandy (Marksman)

A screenshot of Mandy in Brawl Stars.

Mandy is a great Marksman who’s been sitting around the middle to upper tiers for some time now, and her Super and Hypercharge make her really dangerous.

Her Sugar Super fires a long-ranged beam that deals big damage. Her Hypercharge boosts this even more by firing two additional beams that move to the left and right of the original projectiles. As long as you’ve got alright aim, and can time it well, this makes Mandy extremely strong.

Melodie (Assassin)

Melodie is a tricky Brawler to master but in the right hands, she can be extremely deadly. She’s particularly good against other snipers, especially in the later stages of the game.

She’s not a character we could strongly recommend over another character, though, which is why we’ve placed her firmly in B-tier for now.

Meeple (Controller)

A screenshot of Meeple in Brawl Stars.

Meeple is an Epic Brawler who could be unlocked via the game’s limited-time Pizza Planet event at the beginning of 2025 from January 9 – February 6, 2025.

They’ve got a high damage output but a low health pool, and a slow reload speed, and damage enemies by shooting pawns around the map that can hone in on them. His Super creates a space that allows Meeple and teammates to attack through any obstacles for a short amount of time.

While Meeple isn’t the most powerful in the current meta, he’s not the worst pick either, which is why they’re ranked in B-tier for now.

Moe (Damage Dealer)

A screenshot of Moe in Brawl Stars

Moe is a great jack of all trades Brawler. He’s got a solid health pool, swift movement speed, and powerful damage. Moe also excels at wall-peaking which means he can snipe enemies easily with his attack.

His Super sees him drill underground and transform into his Alternative form, damaging any enemies in his path along the way, and whenever he surfaces. His Dody Digging Gadget increases his Super charge rate, so take advantage of it to use his Super as much as you can and you’ll be dominating the battlefield.

Mr. P (Controller)

A screenshot of Mr. P in Brawl Stars.

Mr. P’s Hypercharge deploys a home Base with extra health and two additional Porter robots that will follow enemies and attack them. Paired with his existing robo-porters, you can easily overwhelm the enemy team with his Hypercharge.

If they can’t get rid of the Home Base fast enough, it can be devastating for your opponents, which is why he’s currently in our B-tier.

Nani (Marksman)

An image of Nani in Brawl Stars.

Nani isn’t the best Marksman in the game, but she’s still a good choice because she’s effective at countering other Marksmen. Her Super summons a drone called Peep which can be steered into enemies and explode.

The Autofocus gadget adds extra damage to the Super the further Peep travels. If you can utilize the gadget at the right time, Nani can be quite a formidable opponent.

Pearl (Damage Dealer)

An image of Pearl in Brawl Stars.

Pearl comes with a Heat Bar that charges over time and does more damage the higher it’s charged. While she can deal solid damage with her Super that also knocks enemies back, her gadgets are the best part of her kit.

The Overcooked gadget fires burning cookies at an enemy that causes damage over time, while her Made With Love gadget lets her heal allies.

Penny (Controller)

Penny in Brawl Stars.

Penny’s damage output is relative. On one hand, her pouch can deal a decent chunk of damage when it bursts and pierce enemies that get hit. But at the same time, this damage isn’t too significant if she’s attacking multiple enemies.

Her slow reload speed also doesn’t help. However, that doesn’t mean she’s completely useless. Penny has gone up one tier since her long-ranged cannonballs are excellent tools to control areas and punish enemies when grouped together.

R-T (Damage Dealer)

A screenshot of R-T in Brawl Stars.

R-T’s biggest strengths are his two unique forms. His normal form allows him to attack from a very long range, while his alternative form gives him high movement speed and bigger damage output

If you take advantage of both forms at the right time during matches, R-T can be a formidable force in Brawl Stars.

Rico (Damage Dealer)

A screenshot of Rico in Brawl Stars.

Rico’s attack and Super fires bullets that bounce off walls and keep cutting across maps. If players can master these abilities they can excel at taking down enemies from behind walls — without having to get into the line of fire themselves.

When you couple this with his healing Gadget, Bouncy Castle — which heals a portion of his health whenever one of his bullets bounces off a wall — Rico can be an extremely tanky Brawler that’s difficult to defeat.

That said, since his overall kit relies on utilizing walls and positioning, he can be tricky to play at times as he’s a map dependent character.

Ruffs (Support)

An image of Ruffs in Brawl Stars

Ruffs has been lower down in the meta in the past but his Hypercharge is pretty strong. It will instantly give a teammate their Hypercharge which if timed right means you can spam it twice to cause a lot of devastation. The power of this he propelled Ruffs up into the B-Tier.

His Super sends a supply drop from the sky that can damage enemies, and give allies a power-up that boosts their damage and health.

Sandy (Controller)

A screenshot of Sandy in Brawl Stars.

As his name suggests, Sandy attacks enemies by throwing sand that spreads across the map and pierces enemies. He can cloak his enemies from view with his Sandstorm Super which makes any allies who step inside it invisible.

If you pair his Super with his second Star Power, Healing Wind, it makes it even more beneficial as it adds healing properties to the storm.

Squeak (Controller)

An image of Squeak in Brawl Stars.

Squeak’s main form of attack is shooting blobs of goo that attach to both enemies and the environment and explode after a short period. His Wind-Up Gadget can increase the range and damage of his next attack, and his Residue Gadget reveals enemies hidden in bushes as long as they’re within the blob’s attack radius.

This all makes Squeak solid at flushing out opponents in matches

Tara (Damage Dealer)

An image of Tara in Brawl Stars

There are a handful of Brawlers that are ideal to pick over Tara in the current meta, but she’s still a fairly solid character.

Her Black Hole Super can pull nearby enemies in and explode to damage them, so if that sounds like a power you’d love to wield, she’s still a good pick.

C-tier Brawlers

Dynamike (Artillery)

in-game screenshot of the Brawl Star store page featuring Dynamike.

Artillery class Brawler, Dynamike, is exceptional at causing explosions on the battlefield to deal area damage to enemies. Not only can he throw explosives with his Short Fuse ability but can also roll down a huge barrel of explosives with his Big Barrel o’ Boom Super ability — knocking back other Brawlers on impact.

Unfortunately, his biggest drawback is that his weaknesses are extremely easy to exploit, so he’s in the C-tier for now.

Edgar (Assassin)

A screenshot featuring Edgar.

As an assassin, Edgar is equipped with high burst damage potential and decent mobility. Play him right, and you can ambush squishy brawlers and get out with his jump before you get caught.

Although he’s mostly self-sufficient, Edgar has a high skill ceiling and may not be suitable for beginners. Still, his self heals, and Super is great since the latter allows him to be immune for a short period of time. For now, he’s no longer in the lowest tier.

Emz (Controller)

An image of Emz in Brawl Stars

Right now, Emz is in a similar position to a Brawler like Lola in that she’s just solidly ‘okay’.

There isn’t much in kit her that sets her apart and anything she can achieve in a match could be done better by a different Controller.

Eve (Damage Dealer)

A screenshot of Eve from Brawl Stars.

Eve, unfortunately, is incredibly easy to predict and counter due to her slow-moving projectiles.

She’s not the worst Damage Dealer, sure, but there are plenty of other Brawlers that can do the job better — so we’d advise looking for an alternative unless you really enjoy playing her.

Fang (Assassin)

Fang in Brawl Stars.

1500 damage. With his Super able to hit a maximum of four enemies, to begin with, this change should make it easier for you to secure a wipe, provided that you can land your hits, of course.

If that’s not devastating enough, remember that Fang’s second gadget is also a decent CC that can briefly stun nearby enemies. We’d rank him a little higher if it weren’t for his short range, which makes him vulnerable if you’re not careful.

Griff (Controller)

An image of Griff in Brawl Stars

Griff’s Gadgets are ideal for opening up the map with a Piggy Bank that explodes causing area and enemy damage. His Super is also pretty powerful.

Unfortunately, his primary attack is extremely slow-moving and easy to avoid, which has kept him from reaching the highest ranks of the meta for a while — but he’s not the worst of the bunch right now, either.

Grom (Artillery)

A screenshot of Grom in Brawl Stars.

Unfortunately, Grom’s projectiles are just painfully slow, and there are a lot of Brawlers who can counter him effortlessly.

He’s not bad to use, particularly if you’re up against less experienced players, but his easy-to-counter nature has him sitting in our C-tier.

Leon (Assassin)

An image of Leon in Brawl Stars

Leon’s Hypercharge lets him remain invisible when attacking as long as his Super is activated.

If you like taking a sneaky and stealthy approach Leon might stand out to you but he’s far from the best Assassin in the game.

Meg (Tank)

Meg is a Tank, so in theory she should be tough to eliminate, but due to previous nerfs, her health has been chopped a lot which makes it tough to recommend her in the meta.

If you can keep her alive, however, she can still dish out some painful damage in her advanced form.

Nita (Damage Dealer)

Nita in Brawl Stars

Nita is a pretty versatile Brawler, with a great kit that’ll help you out in many situations. While currently in the C-tier, that’s by no means anything to scoff at. While not as strong as someone like Chester or Lumi, she’s a good pick for beginners, and her Super is a great addition to any match.

Otis (Controller)

There aren’t a lot of Brawlers Otis can successfully counter which pulls him down in the rankings. He’s not the worst Controller on offer, but he’s certainly not the best either.

Poco (Support)

Poco was sitting in the D-tier for quite a long time but has improved a lot in past months, shuffling around in placement to where he now is in the C-tier.

His Anti stun gadget has made him a popular choice with pros because it effectively renders any counters against him useless, making it much easier to survive and keep making impact where it’s needed.

Rosa (Tank)

Rosa struggles to really impact the game due to all the tough Damage Dealers in the meta.

There are a lot of Damage Dealers that can take her down pretty easily, and because of this, she’s usually more trouble than she’s worth to use.

Shade (Assassin)

Shade is a mysterious ghost brawler who was added to the game in November 2024.

While he isn’t the strongest Brawler in the game, in the right hands he can be powerful. The ability to slow enemies with his Jump Scare gadget and his range increase with the Longarms gadget are both extremely handy.

Shelly (Damage Dealer)

Shelly’s best advantage is that the area spread of her attacks allows her to sweep bushes and expose enemies hiding inside them without having to go in them herself. It’s great for picking foes off and keeping yourself out of some danger at the same time.

Despite this, there are plenty of alternative Damage Dealers that can do a better job in a match.

Sprout (Artillery)

Compared to other Artillery Brawlers like Barley and Larry & Lawrie, Sprout’s not the best choice right now. He did receive a slight damage boost in a recent update, but it hasn’t done much in the way of moving him up the rankings.

Stu (Assassin)

A screenshot of Stu in Brawl Stars.

Stu used to be among the best brawlers out there, but due to the most recent nerf, he has been outshined by other assassins. Although that’s the case, he can still be a good pick thanks to his versatility and burst damage potential.

His Super is particularly mobile and can also be charged in a single hit. Once activated, he’ll dash across the map and leave a trail of burning rubber behind him that damages any enemies that touch it.

Tick (Artillery)

Tick has the lowest health in Brawl Stars but he’s got the highest damage potential in the game. His Super sees him take off and launch his own head at enemies before it explodes and knocks them back while destroying obstacles.

He’s not the easiest to play due to his low health, but if you can keep him alive, Tick can be a devastating Brawler.

Willow (Controller)

Willow’s Super makes her solid when she comes up against Tanks thanks to her Super, as it lets her take control of an enemy for a limited amount of time.

Despite this, however, there are far better controllers in the meta, though, Willow certainly isn’t the worst Brawler out there. That’s reserved for the D-tier.

D-tier characters

If you’ve gotten this far without seeing one of your favorite Brawlers mentioned, they’ll be at the bottom placement of our overall tier list, which unfortunately means they’re not the most impactful characters in the current meta.

CharacterRole

The characters that have recently been added to this tier are Bibi and Penny. Bibi’s Hypercharge gives her a great shield and speed boost she receives. Compared to other Tanks in Brawl Stars, however, Bibi just doesn’t make as much impact at the moment due to her lack of attack range, mobility, and overall damage output.

When it comes to characters in the D-Tier, overall, there are too many better alternatives you could be using. We’d advise against picking any of them, especially if you’re looking to compete in the more competitive side of the game, like ranked. We’ll update the above table as the meta shifts around in the future, so make sure to check back regularly for all of the latest placements.
