Another gaming analyst is convinced that GTA 6 will have a price point of at least $100 when it launches in the near future. Seriously.

It’s been well over a year since Rockstar Games finally showed off Grand Theft Auto 6 and revealed a release window for late 2025. Since then, the iconic game devs have been radio silent, focusing on GTA Online and Red Dead Redemption 2 instead.

They’ve left all the talking to their publisher, Take-Two, and, of course, plenty of rumors too.

When there aren’t rumors about the release date, the talking typically shifts to what it’s going to cost. Some reports have claimed Take-Two might start the pricing at $150, which would be a massive shift compared to the current price of games.

Business analyst convinced of $100 price tag for GTA 6

Well, as per Michael Pachter, the managing director of equity research at Wedbush Securities, the game could cost at least $100.

“We think the company has plans to sell the game at a previously unheard of price point, and suspect that management can offer consumers an incentive to pay $100 or more per unit by rewarding them with a large amount of in-game currency to be spent in GTA Online,” Pachter said in a research note that was highlighted by VGC.

He noted “there is precedent for integrating an online game experience with a premium game” with Call of Duty and Warzone, with an apparent 40% increase in sales of “of Call of Duty premium.”

GTA 6 fans are growing impatient with Rockstar’s silence.

As noted, there have been different claims about GTA 6’s pricing before. Take-Two CEO Strauss Zelnick stated in a May 2024 earnings call that his company’s goal centers on “delivering more value than what we charge.”

There have been analysts and game developers claiming that the industry is waiting on GTA 6 before the next shift in pricing.
