Just days after GTA 6 was pushed back to May 2026, Rockstar softened the blow by releasing the game’s second trailer on May 6, which is absolutely littered with Easter eggs.
In addition to showing off some extremely recognisable locations, announcing more information on the game’s protagonists, and some first looks at vehicles and activities, the GTA 6 trailer was filled with hidden details.
Some were more obvious than others, but one Red Dead Redemption 2 Easter egg is so subtle that most have completely missed it.
Red Dead Redemption 2 Easter Egg subtly placed in GTA 6 trailer
Thanks to the Rockstar Games site, which now features tons of new screenshots, we can see a detailed image of one of the game’s strip clubs. In it, money is being thrown around the dancers, as well as multiple bills being held in NPC’s hands.

They’re far away from the camera, so the quality isn’t easy to spot, but one eagle-eyed fan has managed to uncover an extremely subtle RDR2 Easter Egg.
In the images they shared on social media, one user revealed that the cash in GTA 6 has the presidents from RDR2 on it.
They showcased the respective pictures of the bills compared to the cigarette cards, and the resemblance is uncanny.
As highlighted, the 10-dollar bills have Thaddeus Waxman imprinted on the front, and the one-dollar bills have President Hardin on them, both of whom are presidents in Red Dead Redemption 2.
Of course, many fans quickly began speculating as to whether this means that the two games are in the same universe: “Amazing catch amazing detail, I’m willing to cope and say RDR and GTA HD are in the same universe.”

Whether that’s actually true is a little tricky, as GTA exists in an altered version of the USA, while RDR mentions California on multiple occasions, meaning it’s likely they don’t exist in the same universe and this is purely a nod towards Rockstar Games’ other successful franchise.
Regardless, for an Easter egg this subtle to be present in the GTA 6 screenshots, it’s anyone’s guess as to how many we’ll get in the actual game.
