Now that there are a number of extended GTA 6 trailers in the wild, we’ve gotten a close-up look at a ton of the weapons players can expect to get their hands on.
The GTA series is known for giving players a pretty big arsenal to work with at any given time. Shotguns, snipers, rocket launchers, and everything in-between is up for grabs as the player progresses and stacks their ill-gotten gains.
Hype for GTA 6 is at an unprecedented high after trailer 2’s release, with the trailer getting more than 1 million likes just 45 minutes after it went live on YouTube.
Here’s every weapon we know about so far in GTA 6.
All confirmed GTA 6 weapons
While it’s hard to say what the exact name of these weapons will be until the actual game comes out, GTA 6 trailer footage has shown off a good enough look at many of the game’s weapons to match them up with real-life counterparts. Bear in mind, however, that many of these weapons are just based on them and not a 1 to 1 match.
The below weapons are those that are confirmed and that we’ve seen used in trailers, while the list below is everything that’s been leaked across various sources. The leaked list will be more speculative, as it’s likely GTA 6 has significantly changed since the 2022 leaked build.
Pistol (Beretta M9)

The pistol Jason’s holding here appears to be based on the Beretta M9, an iconic handgun that’s been in several video games. Originally designed in the 1980s, it’s been featured in several games, now including GTA 6. This pistol has never been known for its high power, but it’s sure to be a reliable sidearm for when reloading takes a bit too long.

Pistol (SIG Sauer P226/Glock 17)

The other main pistol spotted in pre-release material aside from the M9, this weapon is a strange blend of the P226 and Glock, with an angled slide and Glock optics. Not a real weapon, but it looks close to one. It isn’t likely to be too different from the M9, though it may have a leg-up in terms of accuracy and handling due to being a more modern design.
Revolver (.357 Magnum)

A handgun with some actual punch behind it. The etching on the barrel confirms it’s chambered in .357, a high-powered round that’ll likely pack a much bigger punch than the other 9mm options in terms of sidearms in GTA 6.
Long Rifle (SIG Sauer 556 SWAT Rifle)

The commercial for Phil’s Ammunation revealed several new weapons we can expect to see, the first of which is the one he’s holding in his hands: A rifle that appears to be based on the SIG Saur 556 SWAT rifle painted red, white, and blue. It’s not yet known if this will be a fully automatic rifle, or if it’ll be semi-automatic and focused on longer-range combat.
Over-Under Shotgun (Browning Citori 725)
A classic over-under shotty, this weapon was spotted behind Phil in the trailer. Sometimes 2 shells is all you need. This likely won’t be as effective as other shotguns in the game, but style is sometimes better than substance.
AK-47
The AK-47 needs no introduction. Also spotted behind Phil, this weapon’s silhouette is unmistakable, and it can be seen with a variety of attachments. Fully automatic with a ton of kick and power behind it, it wouldn’t be a GTA game without one.
LMG (M249 SAW)

Phil can be seen shooting an LMG on top of his gun store, and it’s got the same barrel housing as a standard M249 SAW complete with a box mag. It’s safe to say that, if you’re looking for the type of weapon where you don’t have to worry about running out of bullets, this will be the one for you.
Semi-Auto Marksman Rifle (M14)

This weapon has been seen multiple times across GTA 6’s trailers. Based on the M14 rifle, it’s almost certainly a semi-automatic long-range weapon that does best with a scope on it. It’s been a staple weapon since the late 1950s as an iconic US military service rifle between 1957 and 1964. A consistent rifle for those who love the classics.
It’s pictured above in camo, but was also behind Phil in his gun store in trailer 2.
Assault Rifle (AR-15)

The AR-15 platform is one of the most iconic when it comes to assault rifles, and a number of these can be seen across GTA 6 trailers and screenshots. It’s not clear what type of fire rate players can expect to get out of this thing. It is possible it’ll have alternate fire rates it can toggle to if it’s accurate to the flexibility of the real-life weapon, though.
There are some versions of this platform that have tactical rails that are shown in the trailer and others (like the one above) that don’t, so it’s unclear if these are different rifles or not.
Bolt-Action Rifle (Remington Model 700)

Bearing a striking resemblance to the Remington Model 700, this bolt-action rifle has been spotted in a few different images in promotional material. As is standard with rifles of this kind, it’ll be a slow-firing precision weapon that works best with a high-magnification scope.
Revolving Grenade Launcher

Though an RPG hasn’t been shown just yet, there is a revolving grenade launcher that players can get their hands on for some explosive mayhem. It’s hard to say exactly what it looks like going by this brief clip, but it seems to be a pretty standard and straightforward weapon. Doesn’t make it any less effective, though.
SMG (MP5)

Based on the MP5 SMG, this small and compact weapon is likely to fire fast and shred up-close. Other versions of this weapon have been spotted in the trailer with different attachments on it as well. Weapon customization being in GTA 6 isn’t exactly a surprise, but it is officially confirmed with these weapon variations.
