KonamiAt the end of yet another competitive Yu-Gi-Oh! MASTER DUEL tournament, the identity of the Shadow Duelist, Baron Bloodthorne, has finally been revealed.
In 2024, Konami started a new tournament series in Yu-Gi-Oh! MASTER DUEL, where players battled among themselves for a shot at beating and revealing the identity of the masked Shadow Duelist.
The latest version brought a new villain pulling the strings – Baron Bloodthorne. Now, at last, we know the celebrity hiding under the mask.
Who is Baron Bloodthorne?
Following the conclusion of the latest Shadow Duelist competition, Baron Bloodthorne was revealed to be none other than Dylan Sprouse.
Dylan is a well-known American actor, who is perhaps best known for his role as Zack in The Suite Life of Zack and Cody, and its spin-off, Suite Life on Deck, which he starred in alongside his twin brother Cole.
Dylan was seen most recently in the film Aftermath, an adrenaline-fueled crime thriller directed by Patrick Lussier, which became a top 10 Netflix hit in late 2024. This year, he wrapped a lead role in the upcoming indie thriller The Neglected opposite Josh Duhamel and Til Schweiger. He also recently filmed a starring role in Under Fire opposite Mason Gooding, slated for release later this year.
In 2024, Sprouse starred in Beautiful Wedding, the sequel to the film Beautiful Disaster. The YA film franchise is based on the best-selling series of novels by Jamie McGuire. Dylan starred in The Duel last year, directed by Justin Matthew and Luke Spencer Roberts, earning him his first executive producer credit in the process.
On top of all that, the actor is also a lifelong Yu-Gi-Oh fan, who recalled he and his brother getting packs containing a piece of Exodia on their 10th birthday: “I’ll never forget it as long as I live. We exploded.”
He now joins an exclusive list of former Shadow Duelists, which includes a popular singer and WWE superstar.

Back in March, Yu-Gi-Oh! MASTER DUEL players competed in head-to-head matches to earn a shot at facing the Shadow Duelist in a Duel. Now, all that’s left is the grand finale, where the last one standing goes up against Baron Bloodthorne.
Over the following weeks, a bunch of clues appeared on the official Yu-Gi-Oh! MASTER DUEL social media pages teasing the identity of the celebrity. But fans had to wait until the grand finale for the Baron’s mask to be removed.
Players competed in a series of matches with the ability to change their Decks between rounds. The field was whittled down until just one remained, after which the winner went up against the Shadow Duelist in a best-of-three Duel.
Not only did the winner get the pride of unveiling the tournament’s big bad, but they were also awarded a series of prizes, as well as Sprouse’s mask complete with an autograph.
