Wonder Woman’s cancellation
WB Games canceled the Wonder Woman game in February 2025. Reporting from Bloomberg also noted the publisher had shut down developer Monolith Productions, along with two other internal studios – Player First Games and WB San Diego.
This news surfaced a few weeks after another Bloomberg report claimed the project had undergone a reboot in 2024 and changed directors. By that point, WB Games had allegedly spent $100 million on Wonder Woman’s budget.
Are there any Wonder Woman game trailers?
The only trailer ever released was the short teaser that accompanied the game’s unveiling at The Game Awards in 2021.

While the trailer didn’t reveal anything about the story or gameplay, it did provide the first and only look at Wonder Woman and her incredible suit of armor.
Wonder Woman gameplay: Live service & Nemesis System
Although the teaser may have given fans very little information, the devs did shed some light on some of the features they had planned for the title. For starters, they made it very clear that storytelling sat at the forefront of their design.
“At Monolith Productions, we believe in the power of player-driven storytelling to unite people… we are honored to take players on a unique personal journey, driven by the values embodied in Wonder Woman,” said David Hewitt, the Studio Head at Monolith Productions.
Hewitt didn’t stop there, elaborating that Wonder Woman would adopt the Nemesis system pioneered by Monolith’s Middle Earth: Shadow of Mordor and Shadow of War titles. Without sharing specifics, he also told players to anticipate an open-world experience.
“The Nemesis System raised the bar for player-driven storytelling and we’re excited to push the open-world genre forward, combining cutting-edge action with inventive narratives to create a Wonder Woman game everyone will want to play.”

The team had further revealed that players would “become Diana of Themyscira in the fight to unite her Amazon family and the humans from the modern world.”
Later updates teased that the game would incorporate live service elements. As reported by Wccftech, Monolith, of Middle-earth: Shadow of Mordor fame, was once in search of a lead software engineer of gameplay on Wonder Woman and wanted the candidate to have experience in “helping maintain a live software product or game.”
Wonder Woman story: Which DC characters would’ve appeared?
As is the way with any big superhero video game adaptation, fans expected to see some well-known and familiar faces in the Wonder Woman game.
Leaks from @HazzadorGamin on X claimed the game included a variety of female villains from the comics such as Circe, Medusa, and Cheetah.
Furthermore, these leaks indicated that other well-known DC characters had been incorporated, though details were left unspecified.
What platforms will the Wonder Woman game be on?
Monolith and WB Games never confirmed which platforms Wonder Woman would launch on. However, the assumption was that both companies had their sights set on supporting PC, PS5, and Xbox Series X/S.
