When is the next Disney Dreamlight Valley update?

Disney Dreamlight Valley thrives on big updates, adding new characters, recipes, realms, and even fresh features on occasion. Luckily, those updates come pretty regularly.

Alongside recent expansions like Storybook Vale and A Rift in Time, DDV has brought huge additions, with Aurora, Maleficent, and Joy and Sadness from Inside Out recently arriving as Villagers.

These patches are what keep things fresh in the Valley, so here’s what we know so far about the next update in DDV and what it might bring.

Next Disney Dreamlight Valley update

We’re not sure exactly what’s going to arrive next in DDV, but we do know that it’s likely to be appearing in Autumn 2025 if the latest roadmap is anything to go by — and will have us returning to “an enchanting Realm“.

The most recent update, Emotional Rescue, released on August 20, 2025, so we may not hear about more details for a few more weeks at this point.

What’s included?

Emotional Rescue features all things Inside Out, adding Joy and Sadness as part of the Inside Out Realm. You’ll play as a mind worker while you help to restore Riley’s emotional Control Console while making friends with the two emotions.

On top of this, Memory Mania returns on August 27, running up until September 9 alongside the Retro Roadtrip Star Path, boasting tons of summertime nostalgia.

Disney Dreamlight Valley roadmap

Disney Dreamlight Valley is pretty open with its future update plans, meaning we have a handy roadmap for the rest of 2025.

Continuing on from the Mysteries of Skull Rock update, late Summer 2025 will see an Inside Out update, potentially adding some emotional new characters.

Then, in Autumn 2025, we’ll be returning to Beauty and the Beast’s realm, where we’ll “help solve a magical mystery with an enchanting new duo” likely suggesting we’ll see Cogsworth and Lumiere joining the Valley.

Lastly, in Winter 2025, from the roadmap, Cinderella will finally be gracing us with her presence, alongside “more exciting surprises.”

On top of these, the Developer Update (linked above) will be bringing plenty of quality of life updates to both multiplayer and single-player. These will be revealed in an upcoming showcase.

• The Storybook Vale Part 2: The Unwritten Realm – July 9, 2025: Maleficent and Aurora were added as well as new Snippets and a finale to the second major expansion.
• Wonderland Whimsy – April 23, 2025: Alice and Cheshire Cat were added through the Alice in Wonderland realm with the Uncrafting Table, a Cheshire Cat Chaos event, and the Garden of Whimsy Star Path.
• Tales of Agrabah – February 26, 2025: Aladdin and Jasmine were added to the Valley through the Aladdin realm, along with the ability to sneak, a new gem stall, and the Oasis Retreat Star Path.
• Sew Delightful – December 4, 2024: Sally arrived in the valley with the addition of Floating Islands, the Storybook Vale paid expansion, and a Frost & Fairies Star Path.
• Jungle Getaway – October 9, 2024: Timon and Pumbaa came to the valley with a rock and roll Star Path and a revamped Lion King Realm.
• Dapper Delights – August 21, 2024: Tiana arrived with a 1920s-themed Star Path, a new restaurant, and recipes.
• Expansion Pass Act III – August 21, 2024*: This update revealed the final act of the Rift in Time update, and introduced Jafar as an unlockable character.
• The Lucky Dragon – June 26, 2024: Mulan and Mushu joined through the Mulan Realm, bringing new quests, and a Mulan-themed Star Path.
• Thrills and Frills – May 1, 2024: Along with Daisy Duck and a Disney Parks Star Path, a new Boutique was added with a focus on creativity and friendship.
• Expansion Pass Act II – May 1, 2024*: The Spark of Imagination questline began, marking the second act, it also introduced Oswald the Lucky Rabbit.
• The Laugh Floor – February 28, 2024: A new Realm introduced Monster’s Inc.’s Sulley and Mike with a new Lovely Monsters Star Path and a major update to Scrooge McDuck’s Shop.
• The Pumpkin King Returns – December 5, 2023: Jack Skellington returns to the Valley, bringing a Royal Winter Star Path, and the ability to add and remove Villagers.
• Expansion Pass Act I – December 5, 2023*: The first update for the expansion added Gaston, Eve, and Rapunzel to the Valley. As well as a variety of new quests, recipes, regions, resources, and more.
• Enchanted Adventure – September 13, 2023: Introducing Belle and Beast along with their Beauty and the Beast Realm, this update added a Haunted Holiday Star Path for Halloween.
• DreamSnaps – July 19, 2023: This update marked the addition of the DreamSnaps competition and the introduction of Vanellope.
• The Remembering – June 6, 2023: In the game’s fifth update, the Fairy Godmother made an appearance, as well as an addition to the game’s storyline, where you meet The Forgetting.
• Pride of the Valley – April 5, 2023: Along with the Lion King Realm, the likes of Simba and Nala were added to the game, as well as the first Disney Parks Star Path.
• A Festival of Friendship – February 16, 2023: This update introduced Olaf and Mirabel Madrigal, as well as the Mini-Casita. It also added Disney’s 100th anniversary Star Path and the Premium Shop.
• Missions in Uncharted Space – December 6, 2022: In the game’s second update, players could unlock Buzz and Woody in the Toy Story Realm, as well as an adorable Festive Star Path.
• Scar’s Kingdom – October 19, 2022: The game’s first major update added Scar to the Valley, as well as a brand new mine.
