No, you can’t use the New Zealand trick to play early. This only works when a game launches at midnight local time, and Split Fiction launches at the same time worldwide.
How to preload Split Fiction
If you’ve preordered a digital copy, you can preload Split Fiction now, and jump in as soon as it goes live in your region. Simply buy the game, find it in your library, and hit download.
However, preorders still aren’t available on the PlayStation Store, so you might have to wait until launch to buy it and start the download.
Also, bear in mind that only the person who has bought the game can preload, you’ll have to wait if you’re playing through the Friend’s Pass.

Download file size
Split Fiction is around 80 GB – 79GB on PlayStation and 77.6 GB on PC. This is roughly twice the size of their previous game, It Takes Two, and around the same size as recent RPGs Kingdom Come: Deliverance 2 and Avowed.
While it may seem big for a linear adventure, expect highly detailed textures and environments across the sci-fi and fantasy worlds.
First thing you should do
Since Split Fiction can’t be played solo, the first thing you should do is find someone to play it with. You can do this through local co-op or online, and thanks to the Friend’s Pass feature, only one of you needs to own the game.
