When does PGA Tour 2K25 come out? Launch times, preload & how to play early

The full launch of PGA Tour 2K25 is right around the corner, and after a big early access demo period, there is plenty of hype around it. Here’s everything you need to know about its launch times and beyond. 

For years, golfing fans didn’t have much choice when it came to trying to test their skills out on the virtual greens and fairways. EA SPORTS moved away from the sport for a while after rebranding from the Tiger Woods series, but 2K Sports stepped up.

The Golf Club was the first non-EA game in quite some time and the incredibly successful PGA Tour 2K23 has been a hit for a while. Now, as the calendar has turned over to 2025, the aptly named PGA Tour 2K25 is landing soon, and it got the full five stars in our review.

There has already been an early access demo period, and some fans can get in early thanks to the different editions and the New Zealand trick.

PGA Tour 2K25 launch times

PGA Tour 2K25 releases at midnight local time on Friday, February 28 on console. But, since it runs off Eastern time in the US, those on the West Coast can jump in at 9 PM PT on February 27. On Steam, it goes live at the same time no matter where in the world you are.

How to play PGA 2K25 early

To play early, you can buy the Deluxe or Legend Edition (which granted a full week’s early access) or use the New Zealand trick on Xbox.

Switching your Xbox’s region to New Zealand lets you play now, as the full release went live on February 27 at 3 AM PT / 6 AM ET / 11 AM GMT.

Here’s how:

1. Pre-order PGA 2K25.
2. Head into your Xbox Series X|S’s settings.
3. Scroll down to System.
4. Go to ‘Language and Location.’
5. Select ‘Location’ and change it to New Zealand.
6. Click ‘Restart Now’ to reboot your console so the change takes effect.

How to preload PGA Tour 2K25

If you want to be teased by your pre-order, you can preload PGA Tour 2K25 on console now. To do so, pre-order any edition then look for the preload/pre-install button. From there, simply follow the steps. If you’ve bought it on Steam, though, the preload option isn’t there.

You will have to just sit and watch it on your screen though until you are actually able to get into the game.

Any progress you made in the first look demo period will carry over. So, don’t worry about having to rebuild or retool your MyPlayer in the first few hours.

PGA Tour 2K25 is around 28 GB. This is pretty small for a new release, with WWE 2K24 being around 81 GB and NBA 2K24 well over 100 GB.
