Warzone confirms highly requested Verdansk map change in deleted video

Despite the Warzone Season 3 Verdansk remake closely resembling the original, one change is coming that fans have been asking for.

Raven Software, High Moon Studios, and Beenox finally released a first look at the Verdansk remake, which will be coming to Warzone on April 3.

The map layout and the POIs are the same as fans remember, but the devs used new technology to improve the textures and visuals. This includes a new high-resolution sky, better lighting, and higher-definition textures for buildings and environmental elements like grass.

Besides visual improvements, Warzone players have big wishes for the Verdansk remake, such as opening the train station or adding more objects to provide cover between POIs. The devs listened to feedback and responded accordingly.

Verdansk set to add more cover between POIs

CharlieIntel recovered a video deleted by the Call of Duty X account, which confirmed that more cover will be added to Verdansk.

Beenox lead producer Thierry Lauret explained, “We wanted to make sure that when you transit from one POI to another POI, you’re not a sitting duck, so you have more cover around the map.”

“For example, in the original Verdansk, rotating from Farmlands to Downtown left players really exposed. Now, there are new cards and buses that have been added to provide better cover. It makes the rotations safer and a lot more strategic, especially when you are crossing the aqueducts.”

It remains to be seen what other areas will add new objects or vehicles to provide cover. Yet, this is a positive addition and should make it easier for players to run in open spaces or stay safe in the final circle.
