The Seven Deadly Sins: Origin new trailer at Gamescom reveals combat and incredible open-world; Register for the closed beta test now

Netmarble revealed a brand-new trailer for The Seven Deadly Sins: Origin during Gamescom 2025’s Opening Night Live, offering fans a deeper look at the upcoming open-world action RPG. The new trailer was accompanied by even more exciting news, that the fans can now register for the game’s closed beta test which will give them a chance to experience the game prior to its official global release.
The trailer, shown live on August 19, expands on the game’s presentation at Summer Game Fest earlier this year. Netmarble also confirmed that the company will showcase The Seven Deadly Sins: Origin at the Tokyo Game Show in September, increasing global fans’ anticipation for the game.
We got a good look at the combat, which is both fast and flashy. Players can swap between heroes mid-fight to chain deadly combos together in real-time battles.
The trailer also shows off the Unreal Engine 5-powered visuals and cinematic art style faithful to the original anime.
The Seven Deadly Sins: Origin is being developed by Netmarble F&C, the studio behind The Seven Deadly Sins: Grand Cross, which has surpassed 70 million downloads worldwide.
The new title is set between The Seven Deadly Sins and Four Knights of the Apocalypse, following Tristan, the son of Meliodas and Elizabeth, as he journeys across Britannia to restore order after time and space are distorted by the Book of Stars.
Players will explore an expansive open world, visiting locations such as the Giant Bird’s Nest and Fisherman’s Hut, and taking part in activities like fishing, resource gathering, and underwater exploration. The game also includes unique adventure skills for each character, with Tristan able to move objects, Howzer capable of high jumps, and Tioreh able to fly.
Combat is built around four-hero teams, with each character able to equip one of three weapon types that alter their skills and lethal moves. Strategic play is rewarded through hero synergies, with combined attacks producing special effects, for example, Howzer’s tornado combining with Guila’s flames to create a fiery tornado.
