After a year-long wait, fans finally have an official release window for Pokemon Legends: ZA, marking the next adventure of the multi-decade franchise.
It’s been nearly three years since the release of Pokemon Scarlet & Violet, and over three since the Legends: Arceus first debuted. Fans have exhausted everything the Hisui and Paldea regions have to offer, and are ready to pack up and head out on their next big journey.
During the Pokemon Pokemon Day 2025 Presents livestream, Pokemon Legends: ZA got its second trailer, giving players a deeper look into what the next game will offer. A release window for the highly anticipated game was finally announced alongside confirmations of returning favorites and Kalos region cameos.
Pokemon Legends: ZA will be coming during late 2025
As revealed in the official trailer shown during the Pokemon Day 2025 Presents livestream, Pokemon Legends: ZA has a release window confirmed for late 2025.
This likely means the game will drop in November or December this year, just in time for the holiday season. This is a very typical timeframe for a release, as most mainline titles drop in November. While it is later than many were originally speculating, the longer release timeframe will give developers more time to work out kinks as excitement builds.
The speculation is also backed by the Japanese translation of the release window, which specifically reads as “Fall 2025,” according to a social media post shared by Wario64.
Alongside the release window announcement, players also got their first look at the new starters, with Chikorita, Tepig, and Totodile replacing the Kalos options from X and Y. The trailer also detailed characters that will feature in the story, information about the Lumiose map, and what players will be doing as they explore the area.
While fans have had no shortage of excitement, sneak peeks at new locations, mechanics, and debuts have only fueled the fires of hungry trainers ready to jump into the title. With just a few more months left to wait, Pokemon Legends: ZA is sure to be the exciting adventure players have been waiting for.
