Since Mega Sceptile is a dual Grass/Dragon-type Pokemon, it’s weak to Bug, Dragon, Fairy, Flying, and Poison-type moves. Additionally, Ice is extremely effective against this Mega Evolution due to its type combo, so bringing in a strong Ice-type Pokemon could be the best strategy when building your team.
Of course, Mega Sceptile will have its own strengths in battle. It’s resistant to Ground, Electric, Grass, and Water-type attacks. Naturally, it would be best to leave those Pokemon out of this Mega Raid if you want to win.

How to get Mega Sceptile in Pokemon Go
Mega Sceptile’s comeback as a Mega Raid boss will run from April 9, 2025, until April 21, 2025, when Mega Mawile will take its place. Unlike the usual ten days Mega Evolutions get in the spotlight, Mega Sceptile will stay for 13 days, meaning trainers will have plenty of time to challenge and defeat it.
It’s worth noting, though, that players cannot catch Mega Sceptile in its Mega Evolved form. Instead, once they defeat it, they’ll have be given the chance to catch a regular Sceptile using the Premiere Balls given – the amount of balls they get will be tied to their performance during battle.
Then, they can temporarily Mega Evolve their strongest standard Sceptile once they stock up on the required Mega Energy to do so.
How to evolve Sceptile into Mega Sceptile
As mentioned, when a trainer defeats and catches a Mega Evolved Pokemon, it returns to its regular form. This means that every time they want to trigger a Mega Evolution, they must use Mega Energy.
The first time a player evolves Sceptile into Mega Sceptile, they must spend 200 Mega Energy. Once the effect is over, the amount required to do it again will drop to 40, then 20, and finally 10.

Players can gather Mega Energy by constantly defeating Mega Evolved Pokemon in Mega Raids. Additionally, they can earn some more by completing Field Research Tasks and by setting their Pokemon (in this case, Sceptile) as their Buddy and going out for a walk.
It’s worth noting that for Sceptile to be able to collect Mega Energy while taking a spin, it must have been Mega Evolved at least once before.
