After getting through Osaka, Jersey City, and Paris, the Pokemon Go Fest 2025 event will kick off its Global celebration, which will include the debut of the Mythical Volcanion and many incredible surprises.
The Pokemon Go Fest involves physical events in specific cities – this year, Osaka, Jersey City, and Paris – across multiple days, all followed by a global event where everyone can participate, despite their location.
In the past, these have included the debut of new creatures, such as Mega Rayquaza and Diancie in 2023 or Dawn Wings & Dusk Mane Necrozma in 2024. This time around, it’s the return of the Mythical Volcanion.
We’ve gathered all the information revealed so far, so diehard and local fans can prepare for some of the biggest celebrations in the game‘s calendar.
Pokemon marked with an (*) can appear as Shiny.
Pokemon Go Fest 2025: Dates & time
This year’s Go Fest Global event will be celebrated from Saturday, June 28, 2025, until Sunday, June 29, 2025. Each day, the event will be active from 10:00 AM until 6:00 PM local time.
The in-person events will take place on previous weekends, and while the main features are the same as the Global event, some spawns, Raids, and bonuses may vary between cities.
Which Pokemon are debuting in Go Fest 2025?
For the first time in Pokemon Go, trainers will be able to encounter the elusive Steam Pokemon, the Mythical Volcanion.

Ticket holders can complete exclusive Special Research to learn more about this impressive creature and try to catch it.
It’s worth noting that no matter how many Pokemon Go Fest 2025 Special Research stories a player acquires and completes, they will only be able to encounter Volcanion once. The rest will reward them with Volcanion Candy instead.
Additionally, Skiddo and Klefki will appear globally. Previously, Skiddo only spawned during City Safaris, and Klefki was region-locked to France.
Carbink and Frigibax will also finally get their Shiny versions during this year’s Go Fest.
Crowned Sword Zacian & Crowned Shield Zamazenta
Even though the ticket holders of the in-person events got the first glance at the Legendaries Zacian and Zamazenta’s alternative forms, all players in the Global event will get to do the same when the time comes.
Both Crowned Shield Zamazenta and Crowned Sword Zacian will appear in 5-Star Raids. The first one will appear only on Saturday, while the second one will do the same but on Sunday. However, keep in mind that after defeating them, they’ll return to their standard Hero of Many Battles forms.
Trainers can then change their forms by using x1,000 Crowned Energy (each) – as long as they know the move Iron Head. This Charged Move will then change to Behemoth Blade (Crowned Sword Zacian) and Behemoth Bash (Crowned Shield Zamazenta)

Crowned Energy
To turn Zacian and Zamazenta into their Crowned Sword and Crowned Shield variations, players will have to gather two new rare sources of power called Crowned Sword Energy and Crowned Shield Energy for each of them, respectively.
Both types of Crowned Energy can be obtained by battling the Crowned forms of Zacian and Zamazenta in 5-Star Raids or by completing ticketed Special Research.
After the first transformation, trainers will be able to toggle between Hero of Many Battles and Crowned forms without requiring any more Energy.
Moreover, even though they cannot Dynamax or Gigantamax, both Crowned Sword Zacian and Crowned Shield Zamazenta will be allowed to participate in Max Battles.
