Monster Hunter Wilds is one of the few Monster Hunter games to feature a fully fleshed-out photo mode, allowing you to capture the best moments in its vast world.
Perhaps the only feeling better than defeating these massive behemoths is carving their monster parts to craft an awesome armor set made from their hide.
Even better, you can capture your coolness with photo mode. But where do all those pictures go once you take them?
Where are Monster Hunter Wilds photos stored?
The Monster Hunter Wilds pics you take with photo mode can be found in the following directory: C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\common\MonsterHunterWilds.

You can copy and paste this directly in the File Explorer’s bar. Alternatively, follow these steps:
- Open the local disk folder
- Select Program Files (x86) or equivalent
- Look for the Steam folder
- Find a folder named ‘steamapps‘
- Open the ‘common‘ folder
- Here, you’ll see all of your Steam games. Find the MonsterHunterWilds folder.
- Lastly, open the ScreenShots folder.
How to use Photo Mode in Monster Hunter Wilds
To access MHW’s photo mode, press ESC on your keyboard or Options on your controller, then navigate to the System tab (cogs icon) to find Photo Mode.
Once inside, you can snap a shot of whatever’s in front of your Hunter or switch to View Mode by pressing G (keyboard) or Square/X (controller) for more control.
If you want the perfect action shot, pause the game by pressing End (keyboard) or R3/RS (controller), allowing you to pose as that massive beast you just slayed collapses behind you in dramatic fashion.
This feature was greyed out in the Beta, but don’t worry – it’s fully functional in the complete game.
That’s everything you need to know about Monster Hunter Wilds Photo Mode and where your photos are stored.
