Monster Hunter Wilds Showcase reveals

Hosted by series Producer Ryozo Tsujimoto, the February 2025 Monster Hunter Wilds Showcase ran for 15 minutes and featured a tonne of new information. Players were teased with new and returning monsters including the Leviathan Hirabami and the returning Elder Dragon; Gore Magala.

These Monsters inhabit a newly revealed Iceshard Cliffs region which has been described as “a frigid land swept with snowy blizzards”. These blizzards will likely play into the changing weather patterns unique to Monster Hunter Wilds.

Within the trailer, we also uncovered more details about the game’s story including the fact that flagship Monster Arkveld’s rampages are uncharacteristic. Perhaps the returning Gore Magala has something to do with that.

Outside of the trailer, we received new details regarding the second Open Beta Test for Monster Hunter Wilds. These include the addition of a hunt for Arkveld, private lobbies to team up with friends, and a training dummy to help test DPS, weapon combos, and parry timing.

The Showcase also featured a more in-depth look at Seikret customization and it looks to feature similar depth to player and Palico editing. As well as your Seikret, Capcom revealed that you can customize your popup camp with patterns and even furniture so that yours is unique.

Finally, it was announced that Monster Hunter Wilds would feature a detailed photo mode at launch, allowing players to capture thrilling moments from their hunts or explorations. This also means that players engaging in single-player hunts will be able to pause the game, which is a new feature for the series’ mainline entries.

Producer Ryozo Tsujimoto has promised that there will be more reveals between this Showcase and the game’s release so be sure to keep an eye out for news. In the meantime, find out how you can join the Monster Hunter Wilds open beta and how you can play the game’s first collab to get exclusive items
