If you’re looking for a Strategist who can do it all in Marvel Rivals, Cloak and Dagger is ideal but you’ll have to master their abilities and ultimate first.

Cloak and Dagger is a Strategist with a unique playstyle in Marvel Rivals. Instead of using one character, you essentially can switch between two heroes with different kits.

One thing that makes them a great pick is the amount of utility they have. Whether that be healing, dealing damage, debuffing enemies, or even providing a quick escape – the possibilities of making big plays and saving your team are huge.

Cloak & Dagger stats

Cloak & Dagger are solid support heroes.
  • Class: Strategist
  • Health: 250
  • Movement: 6 m/s

Cloak & Dagger is a Strategist who really shines are a Support unit in Marvel Rivals. This is due to the ability to switch freely between the two heroes, and the fact that healing abilities aren’t tied to any resource meter, making it extremely easy to keep your teammates healed up.

Dagger is ideal for healing, while Cloak can put extra pressure on the enemy team so they’re a powerful and versatile duo.

Season 2 meta changes

As of the Season 2 update, Cloak and Dagger is still set to be one of the best Strategists in the current meta, so they’re unlikely to move from the top tier with the adjustments the received in the new patch.

You can find the full changes listed below:

  • When Eternal Bond has been activated, the first three healing zones’ durations are no longer separately calculated.
    • Now, they will all remain active until the final zone ends.

Weapons

There are two different weapons that you can use while playing Cloak and Dagger.

Cloak’s Darkforce Claw is used to hurt enemies by unleashing a beam that deals continuous damage. Dagger’s Lightforce Dagger can be used for damage but it’s much more effective for healing.

You can find the full stats for both weapons in the tables below:

Tips to play Cloak and Dagger

As a hybrid of healer and DPS, the key to playing Cloak and Dagger is to know when to switch. If your team struggles to stay alive or you’re the only healer, you’ll want to prioritize healing with Dagger. Her Dagger Storm ability, which makes a dome that heals everyone inside overtime, is a must-use during team fights.

The Dagger Storm gives AoE healing over time.

Meanwhile, if you’re having trouble reaching allies in certain spots or are all grouped together, sending out her Veil of Lightforce in their direction can be a lifesaver.

Both these abilities can help you pump up an insane amount of heals when used together – but remember, their cooldowns are pretty long. So, don’t waste them if you know your team is already winning the fight.

Ideally, you’ll want to use these abilities at a separate time – unless your teammates are really in a pinch. It all depends on the situation and whether or not you’re solo healing. After all, Marvel Rivals doesn’t have role lock right now so expect to see teams filled with DPS occasionally.

If there’s no one to peel for you, save the healing dome for yourself for when you get jumped by flankers. When this happens, it’s usually the perfect time to switch to Cloak.

Cloak’s Dark Teleportation ability may not last long, but it can be really clutch when used at the right time.

Compared to other supports, Cloak generally does really well against flankers because he has invulnerability, albeit for a few seconds. Use Dark Teleportation to quickly get away to safety or help out a teammate who is being dived.

When using Dark Teleportation, you can see more of your surroundings, allowing you to keep track of who’s doing what around you. The only downside is that the shroud effect for your teammates will be gone if they reload or try to shoot the enemy while in it.

Another thing that makes Cloak very strong against flankers is that he can limit their sight with Terror Cape. While they can still see some of their surroundings when hit by the ability, they will get debuffed and receive more damage. This should allow your whole team to finish them off quickly.

Cloak and Dagger’s ultimate is essentially a combination of both of their kits, healing allies and damaging enemies at the same time.

Lastly, as for their ultimate, since this leaves out a path that damages nearby enemies and heals allies, you’ll want to have it spread on the point or payload wherever people contest if possible. Just be careful; even though you can dash around while creating the path, you can still be killed in the process.

Best team comp

Moon Knight

Moon Knights works exceptionally well with Cloak & Dagger.

The best hero to pair Cloak & Dagger with in Marvel Rivals is Moon Knight.

Cloak and Dagger’s Team Up Ability with Moon Knight is extremely useful. Since they can make Moon Knight invisible, it’s best to coordinate during team fights to help Moon Knight flank and get some easy kills in without getting noticed.

You can check out full Moon Knight guide for the best ways to play him.

Best counters

If you’re facing Cloak & Dagger and struggling to defeat them, we’d advise using these heroes in Marvel Rivals:

  • Venom
  • Black Widow
  • Iron Fist

Venom

Venom can handle a lot of damage.

Venom’s regeneration and high health make him extremely resistant to Cloak & Dagger’s burst damage. He can also excel at disrupting their positioning with Cellular Corrosion, and his ultimate is ideal for surprising Cloak & dagger.

We’ve also got a dedicated Venom guide in Marvel Rivals you can check out.

Black Widow

Black Widow can damage Cloak & Dagger from a distance.

Black Widow is great against Cloak & Dagger because she’s a ranged fighter so can dish out damage from further away and avoid Cloak & Dagger’s abilities.

Make sure you’re posting yourself at high points on the map, and stay on the move to be as effective as possible though.

Make sure to check out our full Black Widow guide to get the most out of her.

Iron Fist

Iron Fist’s burst damage can whittle down Cloak & Dagger’s health.

Iron Fist can deal quick burst damage with his abilities which makes it easier to quickly take Cloak & Dagger down due to the heroes lower health pool. I

He also has fantastic mobility which means he can dive into battle, and get out before Cloak & Dagger can deal damage.
