How to play Adam Warlock in Marvel Rivals

When you’re not healing your teammates with Adam Warlock, ideally, you’ll want to be poking the enemy team as much as you can with his Quantum Magic primary fire since it does a lot of damage to headshots.

Related

When using his charged shots with Cosmic Cluster, try to predict where the enemy will appear by lining up your shots before a fight. The trick is to keep holding your weapon charge and then quickly peek to launch your bullets at the enemy team to chip away their health before going back to safety.

Since he lacks mobility, play it safe by staying in the backline or using high grounds around the map. In the worst-case scenario, if you get jumped by a mobile hero like Spider-Man and die, just remember that you can resurrect yourself afterward.

When that happens, you’ll turn into a ghost-like state, where you can freely change position in a brief period before resurrecting. Use this chance to fly to a safer place or retreat altogether if you think your team’s losing the fight. The last thing you want to do is get staggered with your teammates.

Lastly, while your Karmic Revival ultimate allows you to resurrect allies, be careful when and where you cast it. You’re basically locked in an animation when you use your ultimate, leaving you completely vulnerable to the enemy team.

If you can’t find a safe spot, use the opportunity when the enemy team is distracted or when they’re hit with a massive CC ability from your teammates who are still alive. That way, you’re guaranteed a huge rez and can continue the fight.

Best team comps

If you’re looking for the best characters to pair with Adam Warlock, we’d recommend the following:

  • Mantis
  • Star-Lord

Mantis & Star-Lord

  • Marvel Rivals mantis
1 of 2

Mantis and Adam Warlock both share a Team-Up Ability with Star-Lord. When these fighters are working together, Adam Warlock will enhance the rebirth power of Mantis and Star-Lord which lets them access a Regenerative Cocoon.

The cocoon is a surefire way for either character to relive themselves in battle, and when you combine it with Adam’s ultimate you’ll be able to continuously revive the team which makes you pretty unstoppable.

Best counters

To defeat Adam Warlock in Marvel Rivals we’d recommend using these characters:

  • Squirrel Girl
  • Iron Fist
  • Magneto

Squirrel Girl

Squirrel Girl is a great counter to Adam Warlock as she doesn’t need to have really precise aim, and her ultimate is great for targeting a single foe.

If you can damage Adam enough with some explosive ammo too it should prevent him from countering or healing his allies for a good amount of time.

Check out our guide for Squirrel Girl before you jump into a match with her.

Iron Fist

Adam Warlock is most effective from a medium distance with both his attacks and healing abilities. A fighter like Iron Fist excels at close-range combat and he’s also extremely quick.

If you can get up close and personal against Adam Warlock, Iron Fist can pack a big punch and make it difficult for the healer to get away.

Check out our full guide for Iron Fist to find out how to best play as him.

Magneto

Finally, Magneto is a solid counter to Adam Warlock thanks to his defensive abilities.

He can protect himself from a lot of Adam’s abilities, and then hone in for the kill by unleashing his ultimate at the right movement to take the healer down.

Check out our Magneto guide to use him as effectively as possible.
