There are several ways to save your progress in Schedule 1 and it pays to know them all as you start climbing the ladder to becoming a kingpin.
On your quest to become The One Who Knocks you may find the occasional obstacle throwing your plans into disarray, after all, hustling can be risky. Therefore, it’s wise to save often in Schedule 1 and not leave anything to chance. The good news is there are different ways to do this in the game.
While Schedule 1 features an autosave system that’s similar to other life sim and open-world games, it also has a manual save function which should be used frequently to make sure you’re secure at different key points of the adventure. Here’s a full breakdown of how to use both.
Using auto-save in Schedule 1
Auto-saving isn’t as automated as the name would have you believe in Schedule 1. It isn’t something that the game just does at key points, instead, it’s something you need to initiate as the player.
To auto-save, you’ll need to sleep in your bed. This will update your last auto-save file to the most recent sleep, saving your progress as it does.
Of course, you’ll achieve much in between naps, and things can go south anytime in the drug trade, so it’s worth saving more frequently than you sleep, which is where manual saving comes in.

How to manual save
You can also save manually in Schedule 1 by approaching the wall-mounted device in the Motel room in Hyland Park. You’ll gain access to this hideout pretty early on in the game, so it’s a useful place to save when you’ve made progress and want to make sure it’s backed up.

Of course, you can also sleep whenever you like, saving that way, but this overwrites your auto-save, while manual saving allows you to select a file and reload from a point you choose.

Save using a console command
You can also save by using a console command, now this involves using a mod to activate the console and it isn’t endorsed by the devs, but it works. Just know that it’s not an official part of the game.
But by doing so, you can save anywhere on the game’s map. Here’s how to use the console command menu to save:
- Enable console command from the Settings menu.
- Use the ~ (Tilde) key to open the console when you want to save when the game is active.
- Type “save” and press Enter.
