To dodge, press circle on PS5, B on Xbox, or Q on PC as the enemy is about to land a hit.

That said, timing is crucial; a well-timed dodge allows you to evade damage entirely. Achieving a “Perfect Dodge” – executed at the last possible moment – can synergize with certain abilities and Pictos.

You can practice dodging during the game’s prologue without having any real consequences, either in your duel with Maelle or by accepting to have a dodging dance with Sophie.

Use dodging to avoid single, heavy attacks, especially when learning new enemy behaviors.
