While you’ll be battling tough bosses like the Giant Squid, and sailing the open seas for treasure in Like a Dragon: Pirate Yakuza in Hawaii it’s still important to get ahold of money.
The currency is used to purchase upgrades for Majima, new abilities, and essential recovery items you’ll need to keep stocked in your inventory.
There are multiple ways to earn money in the game, and these are the quickest ways to get stacks of cash.
Bounties in Honolulu
Pirate Yakuza opens up more once you reach the bustling city of Honolulu and there’s a myriad of activities on the map including lucrative bounties. These are easy to track and complete — all you need to do is talk to the criminal in question and defeat them in battle.
Tougher bounties have higher payouts so it’s worth taking out the stronger criminals first as you can earn upwards of $10,000 for each one. The weakest enemies still have decent payouts though and none fall below $1,000. As the fights are relatively quick this is undoubtedly the speediest way to get cash in the game.
Pirates’ Coliseum
The Pirates’ Coliseum in Madlantis’ is full of pirate crews to battle. While you’ll have to overcome some of these challenges to progress the main story, it’s also worth taking the time to do more thanks to the cash rewards.

You can earn between $800 and $8,000 from the Madlantis Mania battles. Climbing the Tournament of Captains rankings can net you between $2,000 for the lowest challenge, and up to $20,000 for the highest so it’s worth taking on if you feel confident.
Defeating random enemies
Throughout your playthrough, random unsavory enemies will often approach Majima looking for a fight. They can be pesky to deal with (especially if you’re trying to get to a quest objective in a hurry) but it’s worth taking them down as you’ll always get a bit of money for doing so.
You won’t walk away with thousands of dollars after a single encounter but every penny counts, so make sure you defeat all the random enemies as possible.

Selling items
Finally, getting rid of any unwanted or duplicate items is a good way to get some extra money.
You’ll naturally pick up a lot of items during your playthrough so it’s always worth selling multiples if you have them. The adorable tiger cub who follows Majima will often give scavage for items too, so if you notice his mouth glowing, talk to him and take what he offers you. You can always sell it if it’s not useful.

There are plenty of shopkeepers around each map but the street vendor on Nele Island is particularly convenient due to the amount of times you’ll revisit the location throughout the story.
Those are all the fast ways to make money in Like a Dragon: Pirate Yakuza in Hawaii!
