Schedule 1 is a breakout drug dealer simulator on Steam where you’ll work your way up from a fledgling dealer to creating an empire, but you’ll need employees to help keep the business running.

There’s quite a lot to think about in Schedule 1, from every drug you can make, to the different mixing recipes that can be used. As your drug business expands, you’ll get the chance to recruit workers, but before you start using the Management Clipboard, we’ve got a full breakdown of all the employees you can hire.

All employees

There are currently four kinds of workers you can recruit in the game, and you can find complete details about these hires in the table below:

According to the game’s roadmap, players will also be able to hire Drivers in the future, so once they’re available, we’ll be sure to add their details to this guide.

How to hire employees

Before you can hire workers in Scheulde 1 you’ll need to have completed the ‘Wretched Hive of Scum and Villainly’ quest that introduces you to the warehouse. During the quest, you’ll eventually meet the fixer Manny at the warehouse, and he’ll let you hire workers.

To do this, go and speak to Manny after 6PM and select the ‘I want to hire employees‘ option. You’ll have to pay a one-time sign-on fee for any employee, and then a daily wage. After they’ve been hired, you can assign them to the warehouse or any other property you own in the game.

How to assign

Once you’ve hired your first employee in Schedule 1, you’ll receive the Management Clipboard. With this in hand, make sure you’re near them, press 9 on your keyboard, and then E to bring up their assignment menu.

From this menu, you’ll need to give each worker a bed, and then you can set them up with specific tasks:

  • Cleaners can be assigned to trash cans around the workplace. This will mean they’ll automatically clear up any trash within range of their assigned cans.
  • Botanists can grow up to 8 pots on a shelf. You’ll be able to decide on the seeds and soil, and you can select a specific shelf for storage if you like.
  • Handlers can work from up to three packing stations in the workplace. You’ll need to select routes from the stations to storage racks so they’ll move products to the right places.
  • Chemists can be assigned to chemistry sets and lab ovens. You’ll need to select the recipe you want them to create. If they’re working from an oven, you’ll also have to choose the final output rack. Finally, if you find a Chemist suddenly stops doing their job, just open up the Assignment Menu again and reset the recipe so they’ll keep cooking.

Paying workers

To pay your workers, you simply need to interact with the briefcase at the end of their beds and add the required amount of money to it.

We’d advise paying them at least a couple of days in advance, as this means you’ll have less to manage day to day.

Are all employees worth it in Schedule 1?

We would generally advise hiring at least one of every employee type aside from Handlers.

While they can be useful, they only serve one purpose in moving products, and you can use an auto-packing machine for that instead. Unless you’re workplace is getting extremely busy, we’d recommend just saving your cash for Chemists, Botanists and Cleaners instead.
