RuneScape Dragonwilds is a survival crafting game, so as you’d expect, you’ll need to craft if you have any hope of surviving. Adhesive is an extremely useful crafting material, but you’re also going to have to craft it.
When you start your adventure, you’ll want to prioritize building your base and crafting useful items like the Abyssal Whip. Some items can be found in the wild, but others, like Wild Anima and Adhesive, can only be crafted.
You’ll need to gather specific items to craft Adhesive, so here’s everything you need to get it.
How to craft Adhesive
To make Adhesive in RuneScape Dragonwilds, you’ll need to put Swamp Tar in a kiln. Of course, you’ll first need to get Swamp Tar and a kiln, so here’s how.
How to get Swamp Tar
Swamp Tar can be found scattered around the Whispering Swamp or by killing Poisonous Rats. Killing the rats is the quicker way of doing this, but if you’re trying to avoid combat, then just keep your eyes peeled for Swamp Tar on the ground.
You’ll get one Adhesive for every Swamp Tar you put in the kiln, so make sure you’ve collected enough.
How to get a kiln
To get a kiln, you’ll need to use Ash Logs, Stone, Clay, and Fire Runes. Once you’ve collected these supplies, open up the build menu and place the kiln in an open outdoor area. Here’s exactly what you need:
- Ash Logs x8
- Stone x20
- Clay x6
- Fire Rune x10
Ash Logs and Stone are easy to get – simply chop down Ash trees (Byrnmoor has loads) for the wood, and Stone can be found all over.

You can mine Clay in the Whispering Swamp, so simply look for the Clay Nodes scattered around and then mine them with your basic pickaxe. Fire Runes are a little bit trickier, you’ll need to either get lucky by finding them in chests or goblin sacks or increase your Runecrafting level to 13.
What is Adhesive used for?
Adhesive is used to improve your armor, turning Leather into Hard Leather. This is extremely useful if you hope to survive Ashenfall and eventually slay the Dragon Queen.
