Schedule 1 may have only just released in early access but the overnight indie hit is already flying up the charts on Steam. Here’s the rundown on the player count as it currently stands.
Dozens of games are released every day from hopeful independent artists, but not all of them find an audience. It’s the nature of business with open platforms like Steam that allow for anyone to get their game in the spotlight.
Every once in a while, however, indie projects break through the noise and absolutely explode in popularity. From a game about a banana, to hilarious co-op horror experiences, some titles catch at the right time and become overnight sensations.
Schedule 1 is just that type of game. Bringing elements of GTA and Satisfactory together, it’s the ultimate druglord simulator and it’s proven to be a viral hit. Although it’s extremely early days yet, having only just arrived in early access, the audience is quickly growing.
Schedule 1 player count
Schedule 1 reached its peak player count of 414,166 concurrent players on Steam on March 30, 2025.
It reached this huge milestone the very same week in which it launched. While off to a hot start initially, drawing in over 100,000 concurrent players in the first 48 hours, the game continued to climb at a rapid pace.
At its peak player count, Schedule 1 was the fourth biggest game across all of Steam, clearing the likes of Marvel Rivals, Monster Hunter Wilds, and many others.

As Schedule 1 has only just launched in early access, it’s only available on PC at this time. There’s been no word about a port to console yet as it’s far too early along in development.
That said, given the immense popularity out of the gate, there’s every chance it’s just a matter of time before Schedule 1 is available on other platforms.

Long-term support for Schedule 1
Made by a lone independent developer out of Sydney, Australia, Schedule 1 is already monumental success for TGVS (Tyler’s Video Game Studio). Priced at $16.99 USD for early access, the solo dev has certainly already earned the game’s budget back and then some.
However, as it is just the beginning, there’s plenty of work left to be done and Schedule 1’s creator has already laid out plans for the near future.
We know to expect new drug types in forthcoming updates alongside entirely new mechanics. For starters, new customization features are set to be added in future, letting players change the look and feel of their properties and also their packaging for orders.
Furthermore, parkour is set to be implemented, allowing for better on-foot exploration, and you’ll even be able to expedite more orders by hiring drivers.

It’s clear there’s a long-term vision in place and Tyler expects Schedule 1 to be around for quite some time. Whether it’s able to maintain or even grow its current audience is anyone’s guess for now, but as word of mouth continues to spread, we wouldn’t be surprised if this indie hit keeps climbing up the Steam charts.
