Guild Wars 2 continues to be a successful MMO despite being over a decade old, and the classic MMORPG still has a strong player count in 2025.
It’s no secret that the MMORPG space is competitive, with many enjoying the likes of Elder Scrolls Online, Lost Ark, and World of Warcraft. However, with so many MMOs out there, the likes of Guild Wars 2 can easily get forgotten.
Luckily, when looking at the population tracker, it’s clear this game is very much alive.
Daily player count
As of March 2025, it’s estimated that around 182,236 players log into Guild Wars 2 daily, according to MMO Population.
It’s important to note that “players and daily login numbers are estimations based on subscriber numbers and online sentiment.” No official player count has ever been released for the game, so keep in mind that the numbers are only estimates.

Player count compared to competitors
While Guild Wars 2 isn’t the most popular MMO on the market, it’s still faring well against some direct competitors.
We’ve got a rundown of its latest daily player numbers compared to other MMORPGs in the table and chart below as of March 5, 2025.
MMORPG | Total Player Count (Millions) |
---|---|
Guild Wars 2 | 20.19 |
Diablo IV | 74.24 |
FINAL FANTASY XIV: A Realm Reborn | 69.26 |
Old School RuneScape | 63.05 |
World of Warcraft | 163.96 |

While Guild Wars 2 lags behind other popular MMOs, its daily count is still impressive and something plenty of other developers would be delighted with.
