How long is Avowed? Main story length & completionist run

Avowed mods

Avowed plunges players into the role of the Godlike Envoy as they scour the Living Lands in order to end the Dreamscourge, a plague destroying the land and its inhabitants. Naturally, that seems like quite a lengthy task.

Combine the rather vital job you’re set at the beginning of Avowed with the hour’s worth of side-quests, camp conversations, companion finding, and exploration and it’s clear to see many will get lost in its sprawling world for weeks on end.

However, if you’re looking to dive into Avowed and want to speed through the main story, you’ll need to know just how long it’s going to take.

How long is Avowed?

Avowed is around 25 to 40 hours long.

That said, your time with the game will vary based on whether or not you’re focused more on getting through the main quest or checking out side content. Here’s a quick breakdown:

  • Main quests only: 12 to 25 hours
  • Completionist: 40-50 hours

For most players, the sweet spot in Avowed is mixing the main story with some side quests and exploration. During our time reviewing, we clocked in just over 30 hours, with plenty of side quests, treasure map hunting, exploration, and of course the main story.

If you’re just focused on the main campaign and skip the side content, you can finish in around 12 to 25 hours. Speedrunners might finish in as little as 12 hours, but expect around 20-25 hours if you’re sticking to just the critical path.

It’s worth noting, that this may be challenging, as players need to source resources and materials to level up their weapons, as combat is far from forgiving if you’re not prepared.

On the flip side, if you’re a completionist who wants to explore every nook and cranny, 100% completion will easily take 40-50+ hours. That means digging into every region, side quest, and secret the game has to offer.
