If you’ve been eagerly trying to dive into FragPunk and receive a frustrating “Network error. Unable to connect to server” message, you’re not alone.
FragPunk is a rule-breaking Hero Shooter with an expansive roster of Lancers to master and Guns to use. On top of the distinct characters, Shard Cards can quickly turn the tides of a match thanks to their unique powers — that do everything from swapping your health between players, reviving teammates, or making somebody’s head bigger to land an easy headshot.
Before you can jump into the chaos, however, you might find yourself unable to connect to the server, so here are all the ways to fix the issue.
Eero router fix
If you’re using an Eero router, try this fix:
- Open the EERO app on your device.
- Tap Security and Privacy.
- Go to Network Controls.
- Disable Adblocking & Advanced Security.
- Once you’ve done this, try logging in again, and you should be good to go.
Solve network issues
Check server status
Sometimes the problem isn’t on your end. You can always double-check the game’s server status via our article. It’s also worth keeping an eye on the official website for any maintenance updates.
Restart your router and device
Your internet may be the issue, so it’s worth turning off your router for 30 seconds, and then powering it back on to see if that solves the problem.
Make sure you restart your device afterward to refresh the connection.
Update network drivers
If you’re playing on PC, ensure your network drivers are up to date. You can do this through the Device Manager.
VPNs, Proxies & Firewalls
FragPunk’s servers may block VPN or proxy connections, so if you’re using either, try disabling them. A Firewall on Windows could also be blocking the game too, so check your Firewall, and antivirus settings to ensure this isn’t the case.
Flush DNS
You can also Flush the DNS which will update any outdated or incorrect records of IP address. You can do this by opening your Command Prompt as an Administrator, running the following commands, and then restarting your PC:
- ipconfig /flushdns
- ipconfig /release
- ipconfig /renew
Solve platform & game issues
Finally, you can try the following to try and resolve the problem:
- Verify game files (Steam users): Right-click on FragPunk in your Steam library, click Properties, go to Installed Files, and select “Verify Integrity of Game Files.”
- Update graphics drivers: Ensure your graphics drivers are up to date, as outdated drivers can cause compatibility issues.
- Close background apps: Shut down unnecessary apps to free up resources for FragPunk.
- Lower in-game settings: If your system is struggling, try reducing the game’s graphical settings.
