Everything we know about The Seven Deadly Sins: Origin following Gamescom

The Seven Deadly Sins Origin

The Seven Deadly Sins is moving away from its place as an anime and looks set to dominate the video game world with lovable characters, a recognisable setting, and gameplay we thought rivaled Genshin Impact.

It’s been years since we were introduced to The Seven Deadly Sins: Origin, and thanks to a brand new trailer released during Gamescom, we finally have tons of information for the upcoming game, from characters, the setting, and an exciting beta to enjoy.

So, to make sure you’re all prepared for its release, here’s everything you need to know about The Seven Deadly Sins: Origin.

Do we have a release date?

Currently, there’s no release date for The Seven Deadly Sins: Origin. However, we do know there’s a release window of 2025, meaning there won’t be too long to wait until it drops.

When we have more information on an exact release date, we’ll be sure to update this article, so check back soon.

Closed Beta

Players can explore the game before it fully releases through the Closed Beta. To sign up, follow the below steps:

  • Enter your email.
  • Add your details.
  • Register and wait until you’re invited to the Beta.

Given it’s a Closed Beta, not everyone will gain access to the adventure. But if you’re lucky, you can play it before it releases.

Platforms

The Seven Deadly Sins: Origin will be available on PlayStation 5, PC through Steam, and Mobile.

There’s no word on it coming to Xbox or being available for previous-gen consoles, so it’s likely to stay as PS5, PC, and Mobile for now.

Characters

There are tons of characters to use throughout your adventure, too, each with a different fighting specialty and lore. They are as follows:

1 of 2

World

There are multiple locations in The Seven Deadly Sins: Origin, namely the Kingdom of Liones, found atop the Fairy King’s Forest and ruled by King Meliodas. It’s a beautiful, thriving city filled with different races, trade, and likely, activities.

Then you have the Fairy Kings Forest. It’s all centered around a beautiful tree and is ruled by King and Diane. It looks to be filled with fun, laughter, and maybe the occasional battle.

Dragons Grave Seven Deadly Sins

Next is Dragon’s Grave. This is the territory of the great Draco Race in the Dragon Tomb Forest. It doesn’t look as… forgiving as the previous locations. But there are plenty of camps, dragons, and what looks to be mining.

Another location you can explore is the Desert Ruins. These are remnants of lost kingdoms and caves filled with monsters. Consider this to be the dungeon and fighting side of the game.

Gameplay

The Seven Deadly Sins: Origin will be a free-to-play, open-world anime RPG set in the universe of The Seven Deadly Sins.

Think of it much like Genshin Impact or the gameplay of Honkai Star Rail. Players will be able to explore, fight, assemble a team of heroes, fish, cook, grab treasure, and so much more.

Trailers

Back in June we got a glimpse at some official gameplay for The Seven Deadly Sins: Origin. The trailer features some recognisable characters, plenty of exploration, flying, battles, puzzles, treasure, and so much more.

Around the same time, we also got a PlayStation trailer, featuring a bigger look at the world, the characters, and some of the game’s activities from swimming, fishing, fighting, and cooking.

So, that’s all we know about The Seven Deadly Sins: Origin. While waiting for more news be sure to check out more games showcased during Gamescom’s Opening Night Live, like Call of Duty: Black Ops 7, Ninja Gaiden 4, High on Life 2, and The Outer Worlds 2.
