Avowed system requirements: Minimum & recommended PC specs

avowed characters

Avowed is finally here, bringing Obsidian’s brand-new fantasy RPG to players on both Xbox and PC. However, the AAA game will only be available to PC players who meet the minimum specs.

Here you’ll explore the gorgeous but deadly world of Eora, the same location seen in Pillars of Eternity. Instead of one massive open world, you’ll explore smaller zones as you try to find out what’s causing the deadly Dream Scourge plague.

However, despite this, games are always increasing in their power and spec demand, meaning it’s vital that PC players check whether they can run it before paying for the game, or Xbox Game Pass.

Avowed system requirements explained

Avowed’s minimum requirements are reasonable and what you’d expect from a new release, so if you’ve been playing 2024 titles like Dragon Age: The Veilguard and Black Myth: Wukong, you won’t have any trouble running it.

The recommended requirements are higher but align with what you’d expect from a 2025 release too. RAM requirements are only getting bigger, with Kingdom Come: Deliverance 2 having 32GB as recommended, but 16GB will be enough for Avowed. Of course, if you want to play at 4K or use Ray Tracing, you’ll need a more powerful rig or upscaling

Its 75 GB storage requirement is very reasonable, with Black Ops 6 requiring over 100 GB and Stalker 2 needing 160 GB. So, even though February is a super busy month with Kingdom Come: Deliverance 2, Civilization 7, and Monster Hunter Wilds all releasing, you won’t have to make much room for Avowed.

During our own gameplay, which we highlighted in our review, we never saw a stutter on our PC, which uses an I9-12900, 32GB RAM, and an RTX 3070. We were constantly running at 60fps and saw no bugs, stutters, glitches, or visual issues. So if you’re running the same as us or better, then you’ll have no issues.

As we mentioned, we ran Avowed on an I9-12900, 32GB RAM, and an RTX 3070. If you have similar specs then you’ll want to run the game on the following settings.

If you have higher, we suggest changing the Shadow Quality and Global Illumination quality up. If you have lower specs, move them down.

  • Motion blur: 0%
  • Upscaling: Nvidia DLSS 3 on Quality / TSR on 67%
  • Shadow quality: Medium
  • Global Illumination quality: Medium
  • All other settings: Epic

Does it run on Steam Deck?

Avowed does run on the Steam Deck, but it can get a little choppy on occasion. Don’t expect a smooth 60fps, but you’ll be able to expect a steady 30 FPS during quieter moments in your adventure.

The primary elements you’ll see a drop with are combat or extensive exploration when sprinting. So, stay in first person, keep it slower and you’ll be fine.

Best settings for Avowed on Steam Deck

The best settings for Avowed will be prioritizing gameplay and visuals, but don’t expect it to look as good as it would on the Xbox or a top-rate PC.

  • Frame limit: 30 fps
  • Motion blur: 0%
  • Vsync: Off
  • Ray Tracing: Off
  • Upscaling TSR: 90%
  • Shadow and Texture: Medium

Avowed will run on Steam Deck but don’t expect a smooth 60 FPS. Its modest minimum requirements mean that you might be able to get a steady 30 FPS during quieter moments, but expect drops during combat or built-up areas.

So, those are the minimum and recommended specs for Avowed. While getting ready to dive in, be sure to check out the best classes in the gamethe best companions, or how to build the strongest FighterRanger, and Wizard so you can help defeat that Dream Scourge.
