All Rematch ranks and Ranked system explained

Rematch, the competitive 5v5 soccer game from Sifu’s devs, offers a new take on the genre, and if you want to truly put your skills to the test, then Ranked is the place to go.

Like any competitive game, it has a ranked system with Leagues and Divisions to climb through as you win games. Played in 5v5 exclusively, it’s where you’ll come up against the best of the best, so you’ll need to be on your A-game.

If you’re wondering how it all works or how far away from the top League you are, here’s everything you need to know about Rematch Ranked.

All ranks in Rematch

The game’s ranked system has six Leagues for you to climb through, each divided into three divisions:

Bronze Div 3
0
Bronze Div 2
100

RP system explained

You’ll be assigned a rank after playing five placement matches, and then you need to win matches to increase your rank. Each League is made up of 300 RP (Ranked Points), so you’ll reach a new Division for every 100.

You’ll gain RP for each win and lose it for each loss. However, the gains are not tied to personal performance.

Each Rematch win in Ranked rewards players with 20 RP, while every loss takes around 17 or 18 RP. This can slightly vary depending on whether they end up with very good or bad MMRs (matchmaking ratings).

This means players will need to win around 5 matches in order to rank up.

Promotion Matches explained

Once you’ve earned enough RP to get to the next League, you’ll go to a Promotion Series where you have to win two out of three Promotion Matches to advance.

Rematch isn’t the first game to implement this best-of-three system, as League of Legends had and then removed it.

Ranked rewards

Unlike most competitive games, Rematch doesn’t give players any rewards for reaching a new league or division.

Besides the RP you get for winning a match, the only thing players can get is a new rank every time they gather the required points.

How to rank up fast

Play as a team

There’s no solo queue option in Rematch Ranked, so you’ll want to make sure you’ve got at least a couple of friends to play with. Having comms and knowing each other’s usual roles will make the game much easier.

Focus on improving mechanics

There are plenty of different controls and mechanics to learn in Rematch, so make sure you have them all in your locker before trying to grind Ranked. Being able to Rainbow Kick, Juggle, and lob the ball are all valuable skills, and you’ll feel at a major disadvantage if you can’t do them.

Don’t rage quit or AFK

If your team is losing, it’s better to take the loss than to leave the game or AFK. You’ll likely get penalised and lose a lot more RP than if you were to simply lose.

Watch other players

It’s always a good idea to watch other players, such as streamers and YouTubers, as you can passively pick up strategies and tips from the way they play. Search for Rematch on YouTube or head to the category page on Twitch.

How to unlock Ranked in Rematch

To unlock Ranked in Rematch, you’ll need to reach level 5. This should take a couple of hours, depending on your skill level.

At the beginning, the quickest way to get XP is to play keeper, as you can rank up the points by saving, intercepting, and passing without needing too much technical skill.
