Fortnite players discovered a glitch which allowed them to nullify the storm damage when they’re inside it.
Even though winning a Battle Royale in Fortnite can be hard, one of the things that makes the experience fun is strategizing on how you’d be the last person standing. You may need to rethink your rotation, swap your weapon for another, or hire an NPC to join you in the fight.
Of course, outside all of these, you can also opt to use a plethora of different tricks in Chapter 6, Season 2, to increase your chances, such as combining the Kneecapper bat with Gold Rush for that sweet extra movement speed.
There are so many interesting methods to use, but not everyone is playing fairly. Some players had been exploiting a bug that allowed them to essentially become invincible.
Fortnite bug makes players immune to storm damage
Normally, in Battle Royale, being inside the storm would chip away your HP, as the point of this feature is to lead you to encounter other players. The longer the game goes, the smaller the smaller the play area will be, and the more damage the storm does.
However, because of a glitch, instead of losing your health inside the storm, you can stay in it for as long as possible without being killed.
Triggering this bug involves visiting the Big Dill NPC and completing his mission, which requires you to grab some items. Somehow, after the quest is complete, players won’t take damage from the storm.
Of course, this led to some players abusing it to essentially become immortal and win matches, as long as they survived long enough without anyone spotting them or trying to gun them down.
