Fortnite x Mortal Kombat collab: Release date, skins, cosmetic items

sub-zero and scorpion MK3 fortnite skins

In addition to the Sub-Zero and Scorpion skins, it’s confirmed that Fortnite will introduce even more Mortal Kombat characters to the Item Shop in Chapter 6.

Fortnite Chapter 6 Season 2: Lawless is well underway, having introduced a Battle Pass featuring the return of Midas and several new original characters.

But one addition especially stuck out to fans – the arrival of none other than Mortal Kombat’s Sub-Zero. The blue ninja’s nemesis, Scorpion, will join the fray at an unspecified point as well.

Now Epic Games has confirmed that even more Mortal Kombat content is on the way. Below, we’ve compiled all the details you need to know, including the release date, cosmetics, and even weapons.

Fortnite x Mortal Kombat collab release date

The Mortal Kombat Sub-Zero skin launched alongside the release of Season 2 on February 21, 2025. Since he’s part of the Battle Pass, players can rest assured that he will be around for the whole season.

Meanwhile, Fortnite‘s official social media pages have announced that Scorpion, Raiden, and Kitana will arrive on Thursday, March 28.

The above teaser also features brief glimpses of a few Mortal Kombat backgrounds, namely The Living Forest, The Pit, and The Dead Pool. It’s currently unclear if these locales will release as POIs or if they’re just clever set dressing for the trailer.

Mortal Kombat cosmetics

Unlike Sub-Zero, it appears Scorpion, Raiden, and Kitana will be released in the Item Shop and not as Battle Pass content.

According to leaker SpushFNBR, a bundle including all three MK fighters will cost 3,300 V-Bucks, with each skin bearing a price tag of 1,500 V-Bucks apiece.

Like every other skin in Fortnite, players can expect these characters to get additional cosmetics.

SpushFNBR’s findings suggest the extras will include Scorpion’s Flame Skull backbling, Scorpion’s Katana Duo pickaxe, Raiden’s Amulet backbling, Raiden’s Staff pickaxe, Raiden’s Amulet backbling, Kitana’s Steel Fan pickaxe, Kitana’s Fan Bear, Kitana’s Fan Fado emote, a Flawless Victory emote, and more.

Mortal Kombat Mythic weapons

Additionally, Sub-Zero and Scorpion have Mythic weapons. The former’s Ice Gauntlets have already entered the game as floor loot; meanwhile, Scorpion’s spear is expected to arrive as a Mythic when he joins and will resemble Chapter 5’s Chains of Hades in terms of gameplay.

Scorpion’s weapon will also reportedly play a sound cue that says the “Get Over Here” audio whenever the spear hits a player.

As usual, it’s worth taking all leaked details with a grain of salt. We’ll be sure to keep you in the loop once more information regarding the Mortal Kombat collab emerges.
