Fortnite x Walking Dead leak reveals Negan skin and two iconic weapons but there’s a huge catch

Negan in The Walking Dead

The infamous Negan from The Walking Dead is set to arrive in April as a skin in Fortnite, and Epic Games has just subtly added his classic Lucille bat and a shotgun inspired by Shiva the tiger. However, don’t expect to use these two new weapons in Battle Royale anytime soon.

Epic dropped the 34.20 update on March 25, launching Fortnite OG Season 3, which refreshes the OG Battle Pass, map, and loot pool. Additionally, the full list of Exotic weapons has been swapped out for a brand-new set of Lawless weapons.

As usual, data miners have been hard at work combing through the patch files, revealing exciting upcoming content. The biggest find from this update is the discovery of the Negan skin and its release date, along with the newly released Lucille and the Shiva Shotgun.

The Walking Dead Negan skin set to arrive in April

According to Fortnite leaker ItsMeLeaky, Negan will be arriving as a skin in Fortnite as part of a second collaboration to release a fresh batch of The Walking Dead skins.

“I can confirm Negan will be coming to Fortnite,” they stated in a Twitter/X post, also revealing his Lucille Bat as a new Pickaxe in a response showing how it will look from the in-game files. Seen with its classic barbed wire wrapped around a baseball bat.

Release date

iFireMonkey has stated Negan will arrive in Fortnite as the comic book version, with his skin available for purchase in the Item Shop on April 4, 2025. The cost of the character’s outfit, bundle, or individual cosmetics in V-Bucks is not yet known.

Despite there being no specific outfit revealed, he is expected to rock his classic leather jacket and slicked-back hair synonymous with the terrifying character.

Negan’s Lucille Bat and Shiva’s Shotgun weapons are exclusive to Creative

The Fortnite developer posted an official blog post on March 25 for the introduction of The Walking Dead Universe Islands for Creative mode. This has added various assets from the hit show and comics for players to create and publish their own maps.

This includes the two brand-new weapon additions: Lucille and Shiva Shotgun. However, these can only be used exclusively in Creative maps.

You can use them now when playing and building Creative islands in Fortnite. Epic has not stated whether these will be released as new weapons in the main Battle Royale modes.

Lucille

You can wield the Lucille baseball bat for an up-close and personal melee attack, using it for the following moves:

  • Swing: Perform quick, low-damage attacks.
  • Heavy Swing: Perform a wide sweep attack with heavy damage that knocks back both players and NPCs. Hold to enter a “windup” state.
  • Slam Attack: Perform a large, overhead slam that deals an AoE damage and knockback.

Shiva Shotgun

Clear out Walkers with the Shiva Shotgun. This charged magazine-fed shotgun fires explosive shells that deal AoE damage, wiping out hordes of enemies. Here are both of it’s attacks:

  • Primary Fire: Press the trigger input to fire the weapon.
  • Secondary Fire: Press and hold the trigger input to fire an explosive round.

Other Creative assets

  • The Walking Dead Prison buildings in Fortnite.

Aside from the weapons, you can also use Walker NPCs in your maps to pump them full with zombies, as well as several buildings, such as various Prison assets associated with the famous Prison storyline, called Prefabs.

These are all the items so far you can use in Fortnite Creative to make your own horror-themed modes. Epic has not yet stated if more will be added in future updates, but for now, there is plenty for any The Walking Dead or zombies fan to get stuck into to make their own publishable maps and modes.
