One of Fortnite’s most beloved Limited Time Modes, The Getaway, has returned with the v34.10 update in Chapter 6 Season 2 with a fresh look and some big changes.
Originally introduced in Fortnite’s Chapter 1 Season 5, The Getaway made a triumphant comeback in Season 8 complete with more High Stakes challenges.
Now, after years of anticipation, it’s been revamped for the new season, so here’s how to play and everything you need to know about the new mode this season.
How to play The Getaway in Fortnite

To pay The Getaway LTM in Fortnite, head to the main Lobby menu, navigate to Discover, select The Getaway, and hit Play to start the action.
Alternatively, you can quickly find the mode by using the search bar in the top left corner of the lobby menu—just type in “The Getaway” and launch the game from there.
How does The Getaway LTM work?
The high stakes LTM has returned with a fresh new look and more changes for crime-filled Lawless season. Just like in the OG seasons, players will need to retrieve one of four Crystal Llamas (Jewels) on the map to win The Getaway.
To secure victory, you must successfully extract a Jewel using one of the Island’s three Getaway Vans. The first three teams to reach a van win, alternatively, you can also claim victory the classic Battle Royale way—by eliminating all other teams.
By winning, you will also earn yourselves some valuable XP to help you level up and progress through the Battle Pass.
This season, The Getaway LTM is available in both Build and Zero Build modes. Whether you prefer Duos or Squads, you can jump into the action in Unranked or take on the challenge in Ranked.
But be careful, holding a Jewel comes with both risks and rewards—it slows your movement and reveals your location on the map, but in return, it gradually restores your Health and Shield over time.
The Getaway end date
The Getaway mode is available to play until April 1, 2025, at 9 PM PT / 12 AM ET / 4 AM GMT. Epic Games announced this in the 34.10 patch notes when the update released on March 11 for Chapter 6 Season 2.
Fortnite’s 34.10 update has also added pre-set loadouts you can purchase that are similar to Call of Duty’s Warzone loadout drops, which require certain Keycards to be unlocked and Outlaw quests to be completed.
Epic has also added six new Lawless Mythic weapons, as well as brand-new loot pool weapons and items, including the Ram Drill, Pump & Dump, and more.
