Fortnite just dropped a free style for Invincible skin owners, proving sometimes it does listen.
Fortnite’s pricing model has long been under fire. Players have grumbled for ages about being charged for skins they already own, just with a new color palette.
Earlier this month, some users went so far as to say they felt “scammed” when they were asked to pay again for a variation of a skin they already owned. This sparked outrage and reignited the debate about Fortnite’s in-game cosmetic pricing.
But then, Fortnite decided to surprise everyone: If you already own the Invincible skin, you get the brand-new blue variant for free.

Fortnite hands out a skin style for free (that is, zero V-bucks)
Unlike other styles, the Blue & Black Invincible style is completely free if you already own the original Invincible skin.
Though the skin itself hasn’t yet returned to the Item Shop, it’s expected to make a comeback on March 12 alongside two new Invincible character skins: Allen the Alien and Dupli-Kate.
When the Invincible skin launched in November 2023, fans of the Invincible series were pumped to wear Mark Grayson’s yellow-and-blue suit.
But it wasn’t without controversy. The price was steep – 1,500 V-Bucks for one skin with no bundle deal. Now, a fresh blue version of that skin has arrived. Inspired by Mark’s alternate suit from the show, it’s darker, sleeker, and looks even more badass.
Fans were thrilled to find that the new blue version was free for owners of the original.
One user gushed, “Invincible’s Black and Blue suit is a free edit style for owners of the Invincible outfit! Looks beautiful!”
Another joked, “Wait, wait, wait, I thought it was gonna be a whole skin and Epic was gonna get hate for it.” Relief was palpable.
This March 11 update also brought 12 mythic weapons, an overhaul of community questing mechanics, and a sniper that could finally end the kneecapper meta. Maybe Fortnite’s learning after all.
