Epic Games has officially revealed the details of Galactic Battle in Fortnite Chapter 6 Season 3, bringing a massive Star Wars crossover to the Battle Royale.
The Island is now a battleground between the First Order, the Resistance, and the Empire, with new locations, weapons, and characters from the Star Wars universe.
There’s a whole new way to fight for victory. Let’s break down all the changes in this new update.
New POIs & map changes
Chapter 6 Season 3 adds some brand-new Star Wars-themed locations to the Battle Royale map:
- First Order Base: The First Order has claimed a mountaintop base, complete with a hangar for repairing TIE fighters. There are five entrances to this base, but the utility shaft is the easiest way in for those looking to sneak around.
- Outpost Enclave: This is a smuggler-filled location where you’ll have to keep your wits about you.
- Resistance Base: Hidden deep in the foliage, this underground base houses important Resistance equipment and X-wings.
- Vader Samurai’s Solitude: Darth Vader Samurai has taken over Shogun’s Solitude, turning it into a fortress. If you can defeat his stormtrooper samurai guards, you may even face him in battle.
Lightsaber and Force abilities
The lightsaber is back. As part of the Galactic Battle update, wielding a lightsaber offers a range of new abilities and advantages:
- Lightsaber perks: When you equip a lightsaber, you can deflect blaster bolts, sprint faster, jump higher, and become immune to fall damage.
- Training with the Force: Players can train with Rey to earn the Blue Lightsaber and unlock Force Push, a powerful move that shoves enemies away. Or, train with Palpatine to earn the Red Lightsaber and Force Lightning, a deadly new attack that shocks nearby enemies.
- Lightsaber throw: By defeating Darth Vader Samurai, players can unlock the Force Saber Throw, a new ability that lets you throw your lightsaber like a plasma boomerang.
- Force abilities: Force abilities are tied to the player, not the specific lightsaber they wield. So even if you loot a lightsaber from an enemy, you won’t automatically get their Force abilities.
New weapons
While lightsabers are great, sometimes you need to get your hands on some good old-fashioned blasters. Epic Games has introduced a variety of Star Wars-themed blasters for players to loot and use:
- DL-44 Blaster Pistol (classic Star Wars weapon)
- CR-2 Blaster (SMG)
- DLT-19 Blaster Rifle (mid-range)
- IQA-11 Marksman Blaster Rifle (long-range)
- Thermal Imploder: This throwable explosive can deal massive damage to enemies and structures alike.
These blasters come with the usual blaster quirks; overheat them too much and they’ll require a cooldown.
Star Wars NPCs & skins
Fortnite Chapter 6 Season 3 is bringing some of Star Wars’ most iconic characters into Fortnite, with a host of heroes and villains making appearances:
- Captain Phasma: As the commander of the First Order, Phasma will drop the Mythic F-11D Blaster upon defeat. She also drops a Blaster Medallion, which reduces blaster overheating times, giving you an edge in combat.
- Leia, Luke, and Han Solo: Starting May 8, these heroes will appear on the Island to offer strategic support. Players can also train with Mace Windu to earn the Purple Lightsaber and unlock the Force Pull ability, which pulls enemies toward you.
- Chewbacca: On May 15, Chewie brings his Wookiee Bowcaster to the loot pool. Players will also find the CA-87 Jawa Scatter Blaster around the map.
- Mandalorians: Starting May 22, players can recruit different types of Mandalorians to their team, including Heavy, Scout, Supply, and Medic Mandalorians. You’ll also be able to use the Mandalorian Jetpack and grab Amban Sniper Rifles and WESTAR-34 Blaster Pistols for a powerful advantage.
Star Wars battle pass
The Star Wars Battle Pass brings some key Star Wars-themed rewards:
- Apprentice Evie
- Poe Dameron
- Wookiee Team Leader
- Emperor Palpatine
As the season progresses, players will also be able to unlock General Grievous as a premium outfit by completing in-game objectives.
New Star Wars-themed vehicles & cosmetics

Epic Games has also added several new cosmetic items, including:
- Porsche 911 GT3 RS Bundle: This includes a collection of Star Wars-themed car decals, featuring Darth Vader, Darth Maul, and Captain Phasma. These decals are only available for the Porsche 911 GT3 RS car body, which comes with the bundle.
- Star Wars Crocs: You read that right. Star Wars-themed Crocs are available in the shop starting May 2.
- Twitch Drops: Watch Fortnite streams from May 2 to May 5 to earn exclusive rewards like the Galactic Duel Loading Screen and Anakin’s Model Jedi Interceptor Back Bling.
Death Star Sabotage live event
The season will culminate in a massive live event on June 7, where players will engage in the Death Star Sabotage mission, fighting against Emperor Palpatine.
This Galactic Battle update is packed with new content and exciting gameplay changes for Fortnite fans. Whether you’re a Jedi, Sith, or Rebel, the island has never felt more alive.
