When is Fortnite Fortnitemares 2025? Jason Voorhees, Ghostface & Scooby Doo crossovers leaked

Fortnitemares, Fortnite’s yearly Halloween extravaganza, is set to return again in 2025, and leaks have already revealed many of the grisly surprises Epic have planned, including the long-awaited arrival of Jason Voorhees.
While Fortnite is constantly reinventing itself with new updates and quirky crossovers, it really ups its game at Halloween. Each and every year, the entire island gets consumed by ghouls and monsters over the spooky season thanks to Fortnitmares.
The popular event is due to return once again this year, and we’ve already got a few details on what to expect. So, here’s everything we know about Fortnitemares 2025 so far.
When is Fortnitemares 2025 in Fortnite?
Although there is currently no official start date, we expect it to be sometime in early to mid-October. This is based on last year’s version, which got underway on October 12 and ran for three weeks until it ended on November 2.
This year’s event will likely follow a similar pattern, but there’s always the possibility that Epic could mix things up this time around.
Friday the 13th Jason Voorhees leaked
One of the most requested collaborations still missing from Fortnite is Friday the 13th, but according to a leak from ‘Shiina,’ it’s finally happening in Fortnitemares 2025.
Following the 37.10 update on August 26, the leaker discovered a mention of a Jason Voorhees Medallion that is set to arrive this Halloween. This suggests that the iconic slasher will be introduced as a boss that can be found on the map.
It isn’t clear right now what benefits the Medallion will give you, but we expect it to be more stealth-based, given that the character is best known for silently stalking his targets. We also expect a Jason skin to be part of the event, but nothing has been confirmed or leaked about this so far.

Ghostface Mythic leaked
Jason isn’t the only horror icon reportedly coming to Fortnite, as another leak from Shiina and HYPEX mentioned a Ghostface Mythic.
It will reportedly allow you to “stalk” and “jumpscare” players before taking them out with two different attacks. There will also be occasions where it slows you down to leave you at a disadvantage.
The leak didn’t explain how the Mythic will be found, but it could be an item that you loot from specific chests, or it could be a reward for finding and defeating Ghostface on the map.
Scooby Doo skins leaked
Another leak from ‘SamLeakss’ revealed that Shaggy from Scooby Doo will also appear in the event with “multiple skins or unique styles.” Again, they didn’t say anything about whether the character will be an NPC on the island or simply a store release, so we’ll have to wait and see.
They also didn’t mention Scooby Doo himself or the rest of the Mystery Gang, but it wouldn’t be a surprise to see at least one more member being included, too.
What to expect in Fortnite Fortnitemares
- Map changes
- Halloween weapons
- Crossovers
- Quests
- New boss NPCs
Much like Winterfest, one of the reasons that Fortnitemares has become one of the most popular Fortnite events is because of the makeover the map gets. Based on previous years, you can expect the existing POIs to be covered in spooky decorations and fog.
There will also be a series of Mythic weapons to find, such as Leatherface’s Chainsaw and the Boom Billys from 2024.
On top of all that, the event also brings plenty of themed Quests to complete and free rewards to earn.
We’ll be sure to update this page with all the latest Fortnitemares news as soon as we know more. In the meantime, take a look at all of the free skins up for grabs right now, as well as the best aim settings to help you to victory.
