The Star Wars season in Fortnite culminates with the Death Star Sabotage live event, giving players the chance to defeat the Empire once and for all.

Fortnite is nearing the end of its biggest Star Wars crossover to date, as the franchise has completely taken over the map in recent weeks. The island is full of iconic POIs to discover, and new characters have been dropping regularly as skins, including Darth Jar Jar and General Grievous.

Each week of the Star Wars season has featured a different theme, but it’s all been building to the live event that brings it to an end. So, here’s everything you need to know about the Death Star Sabotage event, including when it starts and what to expect.

Fortnite Death Star Sabotage date & time

The Death Star Sabotage live event starts on Saturday, June 7, 2025, at 11 AM PT / 2 PM ET / 7 PM BST.

It hasn’t been confirmed how long it will last, but with it confirmed ot be the “Season-ending live event,” we expect downtime ahead of the next season to begin immediately after.

How to play

You can find the Death Star Sabotage event as a tile on the top row of Discover from 9 AM PT / 12 PM ET / 5 PM BST on June 7 (two hours before). You’ll want to load in as soon as possible to guarantee your spot.

You can jump into the playlist as soon as it’s live, where you’ll pilot an X-wing or TIE fighter while waiting, and when the countdown reaches zero, you’ll head to the Death Star.

In the past, live events have also been available for a few days later, giving anyone who missed out, or just wants to experience it again, another chance to see it. However, it doesn’t seem to be the case with Death Star Sabotage, as the devs said, “you’ll have a short window of time on June 7 when the Death Star will be most susceptible to attack.”

What to expect

The Death Star that has been floating above the map all season is charged and ready to destroy the battle royale island, but you’ll be taking part in the effort to stop it.

Very little has been revealed otherwise, but we know you’ll be flying up to the Death Star to take part in the assault. Epic shared a short teaser, which shows brief clips of fighting on the ship, players piloting a Tie Fighter, and even what looks like the finale — where the Death Star will crash into the map.

Since we’ll actually board the Death Star itself as part of the attack, it could all lead to a showdown with Emperor Palpatine, although this isn’t confirmed.

Epic Games are also running a community goal through the Galactic Battle Twitch Extension, where you have to collect items that appear in participating creators’ streams. They said to watch closely once the community goal is reached, as “you might get a jump on what’s coming in Death Star Sabotage!”
