Fortnite Chapter 6 Season 3 is the next major update, and it’s going to be one huge Star Wars crossover.

Every Fortnite season comes with its own distinct theme that separates it from the others. Chapter 6 Season 1 was heavily inspired by Japanese culture, while the current map revolves around robbing banks and pulling off heists.

Occasionally, Epic like to pull out all the stops and drop a season that focuses on one major franchise, such as the two Marvel seasons we’ve seen previously. Chapter 6 Season 3 is set to be the biggest Star Wars collab yet, so here’s everything we know about it so far.

Fortnite Chapter 6 Season 3 start date

The new Fortnite season starts on Friday, May 2, 2025.

There are usually a few hours of downtime before the new season kicks off, with downtime for Season 2 starting at 2 AM ET. Epic Games usually drop the downtime details shortly before the season begins, so we’ll know more closer to the time.

Theme

FN battle pass

Fortnite Chapter 6 Season 3, titled ‘Galactic Battle,’ is Star Wars-themed. It has a Battle Pass full of Star Wars skins (like Poe Dameron, General Grievous, and Palpatine), galaxy far away-themed POIs, weapons, and vehicles, and weekly content updates.

It will all culminate with the Death Star Sabotage event on June 7, in which players band together to destroy the Death Star.

Fortnite will also host the premiere of the Tales of the Underworld animated series two days early. It hits Disney+ on Star Wars Day, May 4, but you can watch it live in Fortnite on May 2. Plus, don’t miss out on the free First Order Stormtrooper skin.

The Chapter 6 Season 3 map brings four new Star Wars POIs:

How long is Star Wars season in Fortnite?

Fortnite’s Star Wars season lasts until June 7, ending with the Death Star Sabotage event, making it five weeks long. This is much shorter than the roughly 90 days (10 weeks) that seasons normally last, making it the shortest-lived to date.

That being said, Epic have been leaning more towards shorter seasons in recent months, with Chapter 6 Season 2 lasting around 72 days when all is said and done.

That’s all we know about the Star Wars Fortnite season so far, so in the meantime, check out how to get every Mythic weapon and the rarest skins.
