Boons were first introduced in Fortnite Chapter 6 and have made a comeback in Season 2 with five brand-new options to give you an edge in the quest to claim a Victory Royale. Here’s everything you need to about how to unlock them all.

These powerful upgrades function similarly to Augments, granting unique abilities based on which one you choose. It’s not just the best weapons and Mythic items that can give you a huge advantage over enemy players, securing the right Boon can be the key to winning.

Every Fortnite Chapter 6 Season 2 Boon & their effects

Boons are consumables you can pick up, giving you useful buffs. Unlike most items, however, Boons do not take up a loadout slot. When you equip them, they will be placed in a separate inventory slot, meaning that you won’t have to worry about having to sacrifice your weapon or other item for them.

Here’s the five types of Boons you can obtain and the different abilities in Fortnite Chapter 6 Season 2:

Vulture Boon	Reveals where enemies were eliminated on the map for a short time.
Gold Rush Boon	Opening or destroying Chests grants Gold Rush.
Adrenaline Rush Boon	Gain the Slap effect (short-term unlimited Energy regen) after mantling, hurdling, and wall jumping.
Gold Ammo Boon	Earn ammo when picking up Gold Bars.
Greed Boon	Find extra Gold Bars from eliminations and opening containers.

You can collect all five Boons in a single Battle Royale match. Even if you’re eliminated in team-based modes, you’ll keep any Boons you’ve collected if you’re rebooted, making it all the more worthwhile to keep getting more.

How to get Boons in Chapter 6 Season 2

In Fortnite Chapter 6 Season 2, there are only two ways to obtain Boons: Purchasing one from the Black Market or looting a Rare Chest.

All three ways to obtain these items last season were removed by the developers, which involved exchanging Sprites at Sprite Shrines, defeating bosses, and looting Elemental Chests.

However, the new methods make acquiring Boons in Battle Royale matches much simpler, and the abilities you gain are well worth it.

Purchasing a Boon from a Black Market

Head to one of the three Black Market locations on the map to purchase Boons this season. Every location for these secret shops is marked on the map above. Once you arrive, just walk up to one of the Boons in the item cabinets and then you will be able to exchange 1 Dill Bit for them.

Each market features different Boons available to purchase, which are outlined below:

Looting Rare Chests

The easiest way to get Boons in Fortnite Chapter 6 Season 2 is by looting Rare Chests. These chests have a distinct blue glow, making them easy to spot from a distance. However, Boons aren’t always guaranteed inside, so relying solely on this method may take some time.

There are only five Rare Chest locations this season, all marked on the map above. For the best chance of success, head just below the new Shiny Shafts POI—this is the only spot with two Rare Chests side by side, maximizing your chances of securing one or even two Boons quickly.
